Manchester United midfielder Casemiro has made a bold revelation insisting that the club’s interim head coach Michael Carrick is the right man for the coaching job and has backed up the English manager to secure the role on a permanent basis.
The Brazilian’s endorsement comes at a crucial moment for the club, as decision-makers weigh their long-term options following a turbulent start to the season.
Carrick, who stepped in after a difficult spell under Ruben Amorim during the first half of the season, has steadied the ship in impressive fashion, restoring belief and consistency within the squad with their performances.
According to Casemiro, Carrick has done enough to not be overlooked as he has steered the team from the periphery to securing Uefa Champions League qualification.
“In my opinion, Carrick completely deserves the job at Man United. I think he’s a guy who has already demonstrated that he has very good qualities to be a Manchester United coach.”
Casemiro, Manchester United midfielder
For a player of Casemiro’s experience and pedigree, having won multiple Champions League titles and played under elite managers, such praise carries significant weight.

His comments reflect not just admiration, but a strong belief that Carrick possesses the tactical intelligence, leadership, and temperament required at the highest level.
For what he has done, the former Real Madrid player believes the interim head coach can do the job on long-term basis and the club must trust him and appoint him as the substantiative head coach. “He deserves the club’s total trust,” Casemiro said.
That statement goes beyond a routine vote of confidence. It suggests that within the dressing room, Carrick has earned credibility and authority quickly, something not easily achieved at a club of United’s scale.
Trust, in this context, speaks to stability, patience, and backing through inevitable challenges—qualities the club has arguably lacked in recent managerial cycles.
Carrick and The United Turnaround
Michael Carrick has overseen a massive transformation in the performance of Manchester United who were struggling for wins in the first half of the season under Ruben Amorim.
Since his appointment as interim coach, the former midfielder of the club has changed the mentality of a side derailed of motivation into the best team in England in terms of points accumulated.
Performances have improved in intensity, structure, and confidence, with players appearing more comfortable in their roles. Carrick’s familiarity with the club’s culture and expectations has also played a part, allowing him to reconnect the team with its identity.
United are the best performing team within this period, picking up a massive 10 wins from his 14 games, drawing 2 and losing just 2. A sharp contrast of preceding results.

Such form has not only propelled the team up the table but has also reignited optimism among supporters who had grown frustrated earlier in the campaign.
The consistency in results suggests a clear tactical direction and improved in-game management. Manchester United will now return to the Uefa Champions League with their place confirmed despite three games left to play.
Casemiro himself has been transformed since Carrick took over. He has scored 9 times in the Premier League this season and most of the goals have come during Michael Carrick’s tenure.
His resurgence highlights Carrick’s impact on individual players as well as the collective. Used more effectively in advanced situations, the Brazilian has rediscovered a scoring touch that has added a new dimension to United’s play.
Casemiro, however, will leave Manchester United at the end of the season with both player and club confirming the decision last month.
His next destination is unknown though reports recently have linked him with a move to the United States’ Major League Soccer outfit Inter Miami.
