Ghana Premier League giants Accra Hearts of Oak have officially parted ways with head coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani and his technical team following the club’s end-of-season review.
The club confirmed the decision in an official statement released on Tuesday, bringing an end to Dramani’s spell with the Phobians after guiding them to a third-place finish in the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League campaign.
Hearts of Oak described the decision as part of a broader restructuring process aimed at aligning the club’s football philosophy with its long-term ambitions. “Following a comprehensive technical review of the 2025/26 football season, the Board has decided to part ways with the Technical Team led by Coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani,” part of the club statement read.
The statement further praised Dramani and his backroom staff for their commitment and professionalism during their time at the club.
“The club extends its sincere appreciation to Mr. Dramani and his staff for their professionalism, commitment, and service. Under their guidance, Hearts of Oak secured a third-place finish in the just-ended season, and we acknowledge the discipline and effort they brought to the technical setup.”

Strong Defensive Record Not Enough
Despite failing to win the league title, Dramani supervised one of the most disciplined defensive campaigns in recent Ghana Premier League history.

Hearts of Oak conceded just 15 goals in 34 league matches and recorded an astonishing 24 clean sheets, setting a new Ghana Premier League record.
Their defensive solidity became the foundation of the team throughout the season, although their struggles in front of goal ultimately cost them a stronger title challenge.
Under Dramani, Hearts managed 13 wins, 15 draws and 7 defeats in 35 matches across all competitions while scoring 25 goals in total.
The high number of draws frequently frustrated supporters who believed the team lacked enough attacking urgency in crucial moments of the campaign.
Even so, the former Black Maidens coach maintained stability at the club during a difficult transitional period and succeeded in restoring defensive organization to a side that had struggled for consistency in previous seasons. “As part of this transition, the team and players are currently in recess. The Board will, in due course, communicate the technical direction of the club as we continue to align our football philosophy with the long-term ambitions and identity of Accra Hearts of Oak SC,” another section of the statement said.
End of Another Chapter for Experienced Coach
Dramani leaves Hearts of Oak as one of the most respected coaches in Ghanaian football, having built a reputation for discipline, tactical structure and youth development over the years.

More than a decade ago, he guided Asante Kotoko to back-to-back Ghana Premier League titles, cementing his place among the country’s elite coaches. His achievements at Kotoko remain some of the club’s most memorable successes in the modern era.
Beyond club football, Dramani also enjoyed success on the international stage with Ghana’s youth teams. He led the Ghana women’s national under-17 football team, the Black Maidens, to a historic bronze medal at the 2012 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Azerbaijan, a milestone that elevated his standing within Ghana football.
His departure now leaves Hearts of Oak searching for yet another new direction as the club attempts to reclaim domestic dominance and return to continental relevance.
The Phobians ended the season strongly defensively, but questions surrounding creativity and goalscoring persisted throughout the campaign.
The club’s hierarchy appears determined to pursue a new technical direction despite the respectable league finish.

Hearts concluded their statement by thanking supporters for their loyalty and assuring fans that every decision being taken is aimed at strengthening the club both on and off the pitch ahead of next season.
