TnA Stadium in Tarkwa will host the opening fixture of Ghana’s 2026/27 domestic football calendar as league champions Medeama SC face MTN FA Cup winners Nations FC in the Champion of Champions on Sunday, August 30.
The meeting brings together the two clubs that finished last season with the country’s major domestic honours. Medeama secured the Ghana Premier League title, while Nations FC claimed the FA Cup, setting up an early contest for another piece of silverware.
For Medeama, the fixture will carry an added significance given the venue. TnA Stadium is their home ground and was one of the foundations of their successful 2025/26 campaign, making the Yellow-and-Mauves the natural beneficiaries of home advantage.
Medeama were particularly difficult to beat in Tarkwa last season, suffering only one defeat at the stadium throughout the entire league campaign. That record gives them reason to approach the Champion of Champions with confidence, although Nations FC will be determined to prevent the occasion from becoming a celebration of the hosts.
