The Ministry of Education has rescheduled the release of the 2026/2027 Computerized School selection and Placement System (CSSPS) results, moving the date from Monday, 31st August 2026, to Friday, 4th September 2026, following requests from parents, guardians, students and Heads of Schools for additional time to complete outstanding data submissions.
In a statement announcing the change, the Ministry said it had taken note of appeals from these stakeholders for more time to finalize the submission and uploading of students’ data onto the platforms of both the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) and the CSSPS system.
Which together underpin the placement process for entry into Senior High Schools (SHS) and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions.
According to the Ministry, the decision to push back the release date is directly tied to the need to ensure that all qualified students have their information properly recorded in the system before placements are finalised.
Officials said the extension would give schools and families the additional window needed to complete what remains a critical administrative step in the placement pipeline.
Providing figures to illustrate the scale of the outstanding work, the Ministry disclosed that approximately 20,000 qualified students had not yet had their school choices uploaded to the CSSPS platform by their respective Heads of Schools, parents or guardians as of the time of the announcement.
The Ministry said this extension is specifically intended to prevent these pending submissions from resulting in eligible students being excluded from the placement process altogether.

With the new deadline now set, the Ministry issued a direct appeal to parents, guardians, students and Heads of Schools to make full use of the extended window to submit and upload all outstanding information within the stipulated period.
The tone of the appeal suggested that the Ministry regards the additional days as a final opportunity for affected students to be captured in the system, rather than an open-ended extension likely to be repeated.
