Jay-Z will perform as the headliner for the Apple Music Super Bowl LXI Halftime Show, the NFL, Apple Music, and Roc Nation announced Monday.
The performance is scheduled for Sunday, February 14, 2027, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. The game will air on ESPN, ABC, and Disney+, with additional streaming options on NFL+ and Spanish-language coverage available.
The announcement came during the Monday Night Football matchup between the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles. In a statement, Jay-Z reflected on the milestone. “From Reasonable Doubt to standing on the Super Bowl Halftime stage, this has been a journey,” he said. “Thirty years of music, work, and culture on the world’s biggest stage. This run continues to be a dream come true.”

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell noted the long-standing collaboration. “For several years, we’ve had the privilege of working closely with Jay-Z and Roc Nation, and I’ve seen the extraordinary impact he has had on the Super Bowl Halftime Show,” Goodell said.
“When we first reached an agreement with Roc Nation to produce the show, I had just one request: that Jay-Z take the stage himself one day, whenever the moment felt right to him. I couldn’t be more excited for fans around the world to experience the artistry, creativity and cultural impact he will bring to the Super Bowl stage.”

Roc Nation
Roc Nation, the entertainment company founded by Jay-Z, has partnered with the NFL since 2019 as the league’s live music entertainment strategist. The company helps select and produce the Super Bowl halftime show. This marks the first time Jay-Z will perform on the stage he has helped shape for several years.
Previous shows under the Roc Nation partnership have featured high-profile acts including the West Coast hip-hop ensemble of Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, Kendrick Lamar, and 50 Cent at Super Bowl LVI in 2022, also held at SoFi Stadium. Subsequent headliners have included Rihanna, Usher, Kendrick Lamar, and Bad Bunny.
Super Bowl LXI will be the second Super Bowl hosted at SoFi Stadium, following the 2022 game. The venue is home to the Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Chargers. The February 14 date falls on Valentine’s Day.
About the Artist
Jay-Z, born Shawn Carter, is a 25-time Grammy Award winner and the first hip-hop artist inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. He was also inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
His career spans more than three decades, beginning with his 1996 debut album Reasonable Doubt. He has recently marked the album’s 30th anniversary with a series of stadium performances, including sold-out shows at Yankee Stadium, in London and Paris, and at SoFi Stadium itself in the days leading up to the announcement.
Roc Nation will serve as executive producer of the halftime show, with Hamish Hamilton directing. Details on special guests or the full production have not yet been released. Speculation has included possible appearances by collaborators from Jay-Z’s catalog and recent tour, though no confirmations have been made.
The Super Bowl halftime show remains one of the most-watched musical performances each year, drawing a global audience. Under the current partnership structure, the selections have emphasized a range of contemporary artists and cultural moments.
Jay-Z’s selection closes a multi-year chapter in which he operated primarily behind the scenes for the event. Earlier in his career he had declined opportunities to perform at the Super Bowl, citing creative control concerns in past interviews.
The current arrangement places both production and performance under his company’s involvement.

Preparations for the February 2027 show will unfold over the coming months as the NFL season progresses toward the playoffs. The full broadcast package for Super Bowl LXI includes traditional coverage along with alternate presentations available through ESPN and Disney platforms.
The announcement positions Jay-Z’s catalog and stage presence at the center of one of sports’ largest annual platforms. Fans and industry observers will now watch for further details on the production as the date approaches.
