In an unexpected turn of events, the cancellation of The Convention event in Ghana, which was poised to bring together influential speakers and thousands of attendees, has inadvertently thrust the New Force Movement into the spotlight. Nana Kwame Bediako, the visionary entrepreneur and founder of the movement, also known as Cheddar or Freedom Jacob Caesar, believes that the cancellation has given unprecedented prominence to the New Force Movement in Ghana and beyond.
Initially scheduled for January 7, 2024, at the iconic Black Star Square to coincide with Ghana’s Constitution Day, The Convention event faced an abrupt cancellation just hours before it was set to commence. Organizers, the New Africa Foundation, cited a last-minute directive from the government as the reason for the unexpected turn of events. This decision left speakers such as Professor P. L. O. Lumumba, Julius Malema, Dr. Arikana Chihombori-Quao, and Peter Obi, along with thousands of eager patrons, disappointed and bewildered.
In an interview, Cheddar shared his perspective on the situation. Despite expressing initial dissatisfaction with the cancellation, he highlighted the unintended consequences that have made the New Force Movement more powerful in Ghana.
“I think you are right. I was praying, and I fasted at the beginning of every year for one month. And I asked God to make the event successful. When they canceled it, I said God, I thought you said you would make it successful.”

Cheddar suggested that the cancellation became a catalyst for awakening the public’s curiosity. Cheddar vehemently denied allegations that The Convention event was intended as the unveiling platform for the New Force Movement. He emphasized that the purpose of the event was to impact and open the mindset of African youth.
“We genuinely wanted to bring these people to open the mindset of the youth of Africa. I knew that I would still come in as the man in the mask but wanted people to know when they found out later about the contributions of the New Africa Foundation we bring into the system.”

“I don’t think it’s just the cancellation that has helped me to achieve my aim. But the fact that they all agreed for us to do a press conference to explain ourselves sent the right message to the people.”
