Ghanaian comedian, Abdul Waris Umaru, popularly known as Comedian Waris, has assured his fans that he is recovering, after he was admitted to the hospital.
This is followed after Comedian Waris, in the late hours of 25th January, 2021, was rushed to the hospital following his ill health.
He later took to his Twitter timeline to announce that he is doing better. He further went on to thank God and touted his fans on social media as ‘Amazing people’. He further thanked his fans who empathized with him during his trying moments.
“Good morning, I thank God I feel much better this morning . Thanks to all who showed concern on the internet. Yall amazing people. Thank u”.
Several social media users who were glad that he was doing well joined him to thank God for his life and also welcomed his appreciation to them. Some few comments from his page read:
At around 6 pm yesterday, Comedian Waris took to his Twitter timeline and posted a picture of himself in the hospital, which put several social media users in a state of worry considering the time of pandemic we are in.
In the picture that he shared, Waris was in a hospital bed looking quite unwell. He had some drip sticking to his hand as he lay on the hospital bed bare-chested and looking weak as well.
He posted the picture with the caption that read: “Wear a nose mask and stay safe from this wicked virus, don’t forget to pray too #comedianwaris”.
Since he is known for his hilarious lifestyle, several of his fans thought of it as a joke or one of his skits he was planning. Meanwhile others to thought he was infected by COVID-19 because of his caption.
He later cleared the air when he explained what actually transpired. According to the comedian, they were on set filming a project at ‘Mayera’, when he suddenly felt weak and also felt the need for medical attention.
Some people who were on the set with him then rushed him to the ‘Faase Community Hospital’, where he was given medical attention.
In another post on Twitter, Waris posted a picture of himself on the hospital bed, still with a drip on him and cautioned that he was not going to accept any injection and also refused to sleep in the hospital.
“I won’t sleep here oo ‘hw3’ this Doctor paaaa, no injection too I beg”.
Some fans also came out to question why he was afraid of the injection, whiles others made fun of him, and asked him to receive the injection in peace. Others too who were genuinely concerned said a prayer for him to get well soon.
Waris has performed at various locations, wooing crowds with his remarkable style that has elevated him to become an international comedy star. He is renowned online and offline, and because of his exciting and funny skits, he has earned the term ‘Ghana Instagram comedian’.
