His extensive career spans top-tier mining giants such as Glencore’s Kamoto Copper Company in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Gold Fields Ghana, AngloGold Ashanti Ghana, Barrick Corporation Tanzania, and Asante Gold Corporation Ghana.
His professional footprint covers both open-pit and underground mining operations, with a keen focus on engineering, mine operations, capital projects, and organizational transformation. This broad spectrum of expertise makes him ideally suited to lead the Bogoso Prestea project back to life, aligning operational excellence with sustainability goals.
A Blend of Technical Expertise and Executive Insight
Mr. Mensah’s academic background is as impressive as his professional journey. He is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Mining Engineering and Management at the Colorado School of Mines in the United States—a globally renowned institution in mineral and mining engineering. He also holds a Master’s degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Mines and Technology (UMaT), Tarkwa, and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi.
Further enriching his executive capabilities, Mr. Mensah holds an MBA from the University of Bradford in the United Kingdom and has completed a Management Development Program at Harvard University. This unique combination of technical prowess and strategic business acumen positions him as an exceptional leader equipped to navigate the challenges and opportunities of modern mining.
As Managing Director, Mr. Mensah’s immediate mandate will be to lead Heath Goldfields’ revitalization strategy for the Bogoso Prestea Gold Mine.
