Ghanaian gospel music sensation Piesie Esther has advised aspiring and young gospel musicians to gird their loins because of the challenging industry.
Speaking in an interview about what she believes is lacking in the current generation of gospel singers, the ‘Mo’ hitmaker emphasised that toughness and being God-fearing are essential qualities for becoming well-established.
She said these qualities are often missing in modern times. According to her, surviving in the industry requires resilience, and one cannot succeed without being prayerful.
“In this industry, you need to be tough and hold on to God tightly because when you adhere to God’s will, He takes care of your needs for you. If you don’t toughen or harden yourself in this workspace, I tell you that you won’t be able to survive.”

Having been in the industry for over two decades, Piesie Esther has experienced both positivity and controversy in almost every facet of the gospel music scene.
Her encounters with difficult people never deterred her from pressing on, as she remained focused and determined during the early stages of her career development.
“I have encountered a lot of things, and God has brought us this far. Sometimes, the attitude some people show you makes you feel like you don’t belong. But when you know where you’re going, you’ll not allow anybody to cause you to lose focus.”

Piesie Esther Grateful for Husband’s Divine Blessing

The award-winning gospel musician shared how her husband has been a significant blessing in the successful growth of her career.
She disclosed that her husband, Enoch Asiedu, is a gift from God and has sacrificed his professional career in procurement to oversee and manage her craft.
According to her, she feels comfortable and safe working with her husband because of the strong bond they share. For this reason, she prefers him over anyone else to manage her career.
Piesie Esther made these remarks, while explaining why she is always seen with her husband.
“I’m more comfortable and attached to him to the extent that he knows when I’m going somewhere, and if he’s not part of it, I would have to stop. Not that I can’t go and do it, but I’ve become used to it. So he’s part of me.”

She further revealed that her husband is the one behind all the videos on her social media pages, adding that she prefers his videos over anyone else’s. As a result, she rarely records videos when her husband is not accompanying her on her travels.

Although he does not have a background in videography or photography, she believes he captures better footage, and she genuinely prefers his work. “So through him, God has added a lot to my ministry and life. I can say that God has blessed me through him,” the gospel musician said.
For him to put his profession on hold to support her, the “Wa Ye Me Yie” singer believes that marriage is truly a blessing, especially when there is mutual support between both partners. She said, “You can be talented, but if your partner is disturbing, you can’t reach higher heights.”
Piesie Esther credited her careful reflection and faith for guiding her choice, emphasizing that her husband’s good nature and commitment were the key factors in their successful union.
Her story underscores the idea that love, understanding, and shared values often outweigh material considerations when building a lasting relationship.
