Kaaka not a #FixTheCountry member
Meanwhile, Salifu Mohammed Bamba, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of;Ejura Sekyedumase has debunked assertions suggesting the late social media activist Ibrahim Mohammed was a member of the #FixTheCountry campaign.
He described the attempt to link the deceased to;the #FixTheCountry Campaign as unfortunate adding that he was a staunch member of the New Patriotic Party rather.
“It is quite unfortunate that somebody has passed on and after his demise,;instead of us commiserate with the family, we are trying to twist the whole issue.
“Kaaka was a strong member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP),;he was deeply involved in our last year’s campaign and we don’t know him to be a member of the #FixTheCountry campaign.”
Salifu Bamba
His comments follow organizers of the #FixTheCountry campaign issuing a statement expressing reservations about the murder of Kaaka whom they described as a member of the group.
The organizers of the campaign after Kaaka’s death claimed that he was their member due to his constant social media activism on developmental issues the country was facing most especially focusing on his region.
Kaaka’s death not linked to leadership crisis
The Ejura MCE further dismissed reports suggesting that;the death of Kaaka may be linked to “leadership crisis” within the NPP at Ejura.
He said this in relation to insinuations by some social media commentators that;Kaaka was reportedly beaten to death for making the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) unpopular in the Ejura township and beyond.
Touching on the situation at Ejura,;Salifu Bamba says the situation in the area is calm a day after the youth went on protest to register their displeasure over the death of the social media activist.
However,;the Kontihene of Ejura,;Odiasempa Antwi Obugyei II,;has condemned the methods employed by the military personnel to disperse the crowd that had gathered in protest,;following the burial of the late Ibrahim Mohammed saying it was extreme and unprofessional.
