Otumfuo’s Nkwantakesehene, Nana Boakye Yaw Ababio has reacted to reports of social media commentator, Twene Jonas, insulting the Asantehene.

The Nkwantakesehene as a result has advised Twebne Jonas to come down to Ghana to apologize or face the consequences.

“Wherever he is, even if he is in abroad, he should get a loan, fly to Ghana to come and kneel and apologize to Asantehene. The Asantehene is very merciful, he will forgive him. He doesn’t need to go through anyone… If I were him, I would have started my journey to Ghana already. Whichever way he has to go to come to Ghana to the Manhyia palace and apologize to the Asantehene, he has to do it”.

He further insinuated that Twene Jonas isn’t able to sleep currently because he is under a spiritual attack. In the video, he also advised Jonas to come to Ghana immediately to show remorse over his comment else he will face the consequence one day.

“Whoever advised him to utter such words didn’t advise him well. Let’s ask Twene Jonas if he is able to sleep at night? He won’t be able to sleep because we are angry. It’s a foolish man who doesn’t regret his action. And so, if he has anything to do, he should expedite;it or else one day will be a bad day for him”.

Meanwhile, Twene Jonas hasn’t confirmed whether he will come down to Ghana to apologize or whether he will continue to show no remorse for his actions.

Twene Jonas is widely known for his controversial sentiments over the ill-governance of the leaders in Ghana. In all his submissions, Twene Jonas charges the government to “reason like the US government for the progress of the country”.

However, it seems the social commentator has bitten more than he can chew. It can be recalled that recently Jonas has descended heavily on Ghanaian chiefs and leaders.

In his previous rant on Galamsey destroying water bodies, he said: “Even the Asantehene said if you are a chief and you give people land to illegally mine in return of goat then it’s over to you”

” [In] Ghana everyone is a thief, they don’t speak the truth, including the Asnatehene. He couldn’t speak the truth but if you watch, he has been listening to me now, hence, he has to speak the truth now”.

Meanwhile, social media users who are believed to be natives of Kumasi are in a frenzy over this issue.

Just like Otumfuo’s Nkwantakesehene, they cautioned Jonas to come before Otumfuo to ask for forgiveness else face the consequences.

Some even took it a step further and have already taken action. In a video that has gone viral on social media, a native of Kumasi is seen cursing Twene Jonas for insulting Asantehene.

Honestly I dont accept the fact that #Twenejonas insults our leaders or the King of Ashanti Region for that matter. but it leads me to ask, has it gotten to extend of we cursing someone for trying to say the truth. Or are we enjoying the state we are in?

That notwithstanding, Archipalago, who is also a social commentator has warned Twene Jonas to be careful with his words and refrain from publicly insulting Ghanaians and the leaders because of how he believes the country should be managed.
