Ghanaian multiple award-wining artist, Sarkodie has called on the law to pardon;Ghanaian actress, Rosemond Alade Brown, who is popularly;known as Akuapem Poloo.
This follows Akuapem Poloo being charged with abusing the integrity;and subduing the dignity of her 7-year-old son after she shared a photo of herself completely;naked with her son on his birthday. Yesterday, 14 April, Akuapem Poloo was remanded into police custody by the Accra Circuit Court. The judge who presided over the case, Her Honor Christina Cann ordered that;the actress undergoes a pregnancy test before her final sentence on Friday, 16th April.
Sarkodie took to his social media to call on the authorities handling;Rosemond Brown’s case to temper justice with mercy since sentencing her would seem a “little harsh”.
Sarkodie added that separating a mother from her child;just because of some pictures they took together would be on the hard side. Sarkodie’s tweet read: “I think it’s a little harsh to separate a child from;the mum just because of pictures taken… would want to plead with the law to pardon our sister #FreeAkuapemPoloo”

Sarkodie isn’t the only celebrity who has leaned into the case in defense of Akuapem Poloo.
Ghanaian sensational songstress, Efya also called on authorities to free Rosemond Alade Brown. In a Twitter post, the singer shared the hashtag #FreeAkuapemPoloo in solidarity and support of Akuapem Poloo.
Also, US-based Ghanaian rapper, Showboy called on the court to free Akuapem Poloo for the sake of her son. Showboy who is currently in prison in the United State of America for murder;said that he wouldn’t wish for anyone to be jailed because the mental stress that comes with it is unbearable.
Showboy pleaded that the socialite is freed and not separated from her 7-year-old son. He said that Akuapem Poloo’s action was not intentional, adding that if the court decides;to separate a hardworking single mother like Akuapem Poloo from her son, that would be the greatest punishment ever.
Meanwhile, popular Ghanaian Comedian, DKB fired shots at the NGO who pursued Akuapem Poloo’s case for her to be jailed.
DKB called out the child’s right outfit for their intention to have the single mother separated from her son. He emphasized that the child of Akuapem Poloo would suffer psychologically and will be traumatized if his mother is jailed.
He further pleaded that a softer punishment should be given to Akuapem;Poloo rather than making her go to jail for a mild issue. He also implored Ghanaians to assist him in appealing to the President to;come to the aid of Akuapem Poloo for the sake of her 7-year-old son.
