Francis-Asenso-Boakye, MP Bantama Constituency

The Member of Parliament for Bantama Constituency in the Ashanti Region, Honorable Francis Asenso-Boakye has touted his commitment to development projects and community engagement in his constituency and expressed surprise at the outcome of the New Patriotic Party parliamentary primaries despite his significant achievements in the constituency.

The Minister of Works and Housing touting his achievements in a media interview highlighted the numerous development projects he has initiated during his tenure as a Member of Parliament and strongly asserted that such strides made within his first term in office are unprecedented in the region.

The Bantama lawmaker further argued that since he was elected a Member of Parliament, the constituency has witnessed both tangible infrastructural developments, community engagement and mobilization efforts that, according to him, had never been witnessed before in Bantama.

“I had the opportunity to serve, and during my tenure, I brought forth many development projects that the people of Bantama believe are unprecedented and never happened before. In terms of both development projects and community engagement, it has never happened before”.

Furthermore, the Honorable Francis Asenso Boakye asserted that despite the substantial responsibility that accompanied his role as a cabinet Minister and a lawmaker, he consistently made time to visit his constituency on countless occasions.

According to him, such interactions with constituents and the general public allowed him to gauge the needs and concerns of the community firsthand.

However, Mr Asenso-Baokye expressed disappointment over the election results, attributing the outcome to the substantial support his opponent garnered leading up to the contest.

According to him, his opponent, Lawyer Ralph Agyapong undoubtedly receive a significant support base on the final results of the parliamentary primaries in the Bantama Constituency.

” So I believed that I had done a lot of work and knew I could pull an even bigger percentage but it did not happen because of the support my opponent had going into the contest”.

Despite the setback, Mr Asenso-Boakye indicated that he remains resolute in his commitment to serving the people of Bantama and further expressed gratitude to his constituents for the opportunity to serve and vowed to continue advocating for the development of the constituency.

Asenso-Boakye Denies Corruption Allegations, Challenges Accusers to Come Forward

The Honorable Asenso-Baokye reacting to the allegations described them as baseless and called on the general public to treat them with the contempt they deserve.

Clarifying his role during his tenure at the Jubilee House as the Deputy Chief of Staff, the Minister emphasized that he was not responsible for scheduling presidential appointments and visits, hence there is no way he could have demanded monies from businessmen who intended to see President Akufo-Addo .

“I knew very well that they were just fabrications. I have never, God is my witness in my line of duty and wherever I have worked, I have never demanded any favor or money before anything is done. My job was not the scheduler of the President, that wasn’t my job.

“If anybody wants to see the President, the person won’t come to me. Even with those who had access to me, they were usually party members or individuals known to the President.”

Honorable Francis Asenso-Boakye

The Minister of Works and Housing thus challenged his accusers to step forward and substantiate their claims, emphasizing that such claims have far-reaching consequences on his personal and professional life.
