Zenith Bank Expands Reach with 42nd Branch Opening in Ashaiman

Zenith Bank (Ghana) Limited has made a notable stride in its expansion efforts with the inauguration of its 42nd physical branch in Ashaiman. Positioned at the Ashaiman Shell Filling Station along the Ashaiman-Klagon road, this new branch underscores the bank’s dedication to broadening its footprint and extending its services to communities across the nation.

Covering 11 out of Ghana’s 16 regions, Zenith Bank’s expansion strategy aims to enhance accessibility to financial services while reinforcing its position within the country’s dynamic financial landscape. Mr. Henry Onwuzurigbo, the bank’s Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, highlighted the significance of the new branch, emphasizing Zenith Bank’s ethos of being present wherever its services are required.

Acknowledging the rise of digital banking, Mr. Onwuzurigbo stressed the enduring value of physical branches in facilitating meaningful human interaction within the banking sector. Despite the technological advancements, maintaining brick-and-mortar branches ensures that customers continue to benefit from personalized assistance and tailored financial solutions.

The selection of Ashaiman as the location for the new branch was a strategic decision, informed by its dense population, diverse demographics, and thriving ecosystem of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises. With a bustling manufacturing sector encompassing textiles, agricultural inputs, metalwork, and more, Ashaiman presents an enticing opportunity for Zenith Bank to actively contribute to the local economy.

Mr. Onwuzurigbo expressed the bank’s commitment to broader accessibility, hinting at further branch openings in the future. He teased the prospect of another branch in the pipeline, affirming Zenith Bank’s unwavering dedication to delivering exceptional customer experiences. He assured attendees of the readiness of the bank’s staff to provide prompt and efficient service to all customers.

Mrs. Getrude Amui, the Market Queen of Ashaiman, acknowledged the initial apprehensions many traders have towards financial institutions. She commended Zenith Bank’s approach, citing positive interactions with leadership, transparent communication, and visible growth, factors that instilled confidence and encouraged wider participation in the formal financial sector.

“When you come to the markets many have not had very good experiences and are therefore hesitant to commit to financial institutions, but Zenith Bank’s approach, our interactions with the highest level of its leaders, the assurances provided and what we have seen with our eyes give us confidence that our deposits are not only safe, but we will grow with the bank.”

Among the esteemed guests were Imam Yakubu Abdul-Hamid, the Imam of the Ashaiman Jericho Mosque; Superintendent Osman Alhassan and ASP Isaac Avornorkadzi, Acting District Police Commander – Ashaiman. Others were Rev. Anslem Okafo, Chairman of the Nigerian Union of Traders – Ashaiman; Mr. James Ahiadome, CEO of J.K. Ahiadome Transport Limited.

The inauguration of the Ashaiman branch not only signifies Zenith Bank’s expansion efforts but also reflects its overarching mission to foster financial inclusion and support economic development at the grassroots level. By establishing a physical presence in key communities like Ashaiman, Zenith Bank continues to demonstrate its commitment to meeting the evolving needs of customers while contributing to the growth and prosperity of Ghana’s economy.
