In a bold message, Honourable Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the Member of Parliament for North Tongu Constituency has expressed his readiness for a court showdown with Freddie Blay, former National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
The case stems from a dispute regarding the beachfront of the Labadi Beach Hotel, which Hon. Ablakwa and his team are fighting to reclaim as part of their wider campaign against state capture.
The National Democratic Congress legislator, in a statement, denounced Freddie Blay’s claims of finding difficulties in locating him and broadcast journalist Johnnie Hughes to serve them with court processes.
“Folks, apparently Freddie Blay claims he couldn’t find Johnnie Hughes and I to serve us with his court processes so he returned to court to obtain an order for substituted service.
“I didn’t know I was that difficult to locate. It is also exceedingly strange that a former MP and former Deputy Speaker will claim he doesn’t know how to find an MP to serve him with court processes”.

He further underscored the ease with which his whereabouts can be known, given his active role in the public sphere.
Undeterred by the legal action, Hon. Ablakwa confirmed that he has instructed his lawyers to respond to Mr Blay’s court processes.
The North Tongu legislator also emphasized his willingness to appear in court personally. “I am more than ready to personally appear in court at all times,” Hon. Ablakwa stated, reiterating that he would not be intimidated or dissuaded from pursuing justice.
Operation-Recover-All-Loot
This legal dispute is part of a broader campaign Hon. Ablakwa labelled “Operation-Recover-All-Loot (ORAL)”, aimed at reclaiming state assets and resources that he believes have been wrongfully appropriated.
He described the ongoing fight as essential to halting what he views as a growing culture of state capture, a form of corruption where powerful individuals or groups influence government policies and decisions for their own gain.
“The battle against state capture continues unabated,” Hon. Ablakwa declared, promising that the quest to recover the beachfront property would proceed regardless of the challenges posed by his opponents.
The beachfront of the Labadi Beach Hotel, a prime piece of real estate, has been the subject of significant public interest, with accusations of improper dealings in its management and ownership.
Hon. Ablakwa has been a vocal critic of what he views as the misuse of public resources and has made it clear that his commitment to transparency and accountability will not waver.
His determination to see the case through, coupled with his confidence in a successful legal outcome, underscores his larger fight for what he describes as the restoration of justice and fairness in the management of national assets.
“Another reason why I am extremely excited about Operation-Recover-All-Loot (ORAL). For God and Country. Ghana First,” Hon. Ablakwa wrote, ending his statement with a patriotic call to action.

In June this year, the North Tongu MP revealed that court records unveil a bitter dispute between Loic and Kwaw, centring on vast sums of money generated from their business ventures on the encroached beachfront of Labadi Beach Hotel, with the two engaging in a fierce battle over the profits.
He disclosed that substantial amounts of money generated from the Labadi Beach Hotel’s beachfront, which is allegedly under the sole control of Mr. Kwaw Worsomao Blay, include, Gross revenue for the 2019 event: GHS 4,337,113.59 and corporate sponsorship from Pernod Ricard West Africa for the 2020 event: GHS 457,833.87 (€65,000).
