Kim Kardashian Considers Custody Shift After Kanye’s Song

Kim Kardashian is reportedly considering changing her custody agreement with ex-husband Kanye West after he released a song featuring their eldest child, daughter North West, without her approval.

The “Kardashians” star is seriously debating taking the hip-hop star — who now goes by Ye — to court to ask a judge to strip him of joint legal custody in light of the drama.

The exes, who wed in 2014, settled their divorce in 2022 and agreed to joint physical and legal custody of their four children: North, 11, Saint, 9, Chicago, 7, and Psalm, 5.

Physical custody is reportedly not an issue as the “Heartless” rapper rarely sees his kids and Kardashian, 44, still wants them to have a good relationship with their father, per the outlet.

However, it’s a different story when it comes to decision-making for their brood.

The former couple’s divorce agreement reportedly states that they must attend a private hearing with a judge in the event there’s a conflict regarding their kids.

However, after this weekend’s debacle, it has become clear that the rapper, 47, refuses to abide by the rules of their agreement.

Kim Kardashian requested an emergency hearing with their lawyers, a mediator and a judge after learning West was planning to drop a song featuring their eldest daughter, North, and embattled rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs.

Although Ye skipped the meeting, he reportedly agreed not to release the track, titled “Lonely Roads Still Go to Sunshine.”

However, Ye went back on his word and dropped the song on X one day later, declaring that men “make the final decision.”

The “Donda” rapper also shared a heated text exchange between himself and Kardashian, who made it clear she did not want their daughter involved with the jailed Bad Boy Records mogul.

Ye seemed furious about Kardashian sending him a cease-and-desist letter and trademarking their daughter’s name — despite it allegedly being a decision they made together. “I’m never speaking with you again,” he allegedly texted his ex-wife in the since-deleted upload.

However, Kim Kardashian claimed they had “agreed” to trademark all their kids’ names “when they were born” so that “no one else would take them.”

“I asked you at the time if I can trademark her name. You said yes. When she’s 18, it goes to her. So stop. I sent paperwork over so she wouldn’t be in the Diddy song to protect her.”

Ye asked her to “amend” the legal papers or risk “going to war.” “And neither of us will recover from the public fallout,” he threatened, adding, “You’re going to have to kill me.”

Soon after, he went on a lengthy X rant, accusing the “Kardashian mob” of restricting his parenting abilities and comparing their current custody agreement to “visitation” in “jail.”

However, an insider revealed that the Skims founder is just trying to do what is best for her children. “Kim’s priority is the well-being and safety of her children and to protect them from being around Kanye’s controversial behavior,” the source said.

Some say diamonds are forever, but that’s not quite the case for one of Kim Kardashian’s engagement rings.

The Skims founder, who has been married three times, was reminiscing about her three engagement rings over the years on the latest episode of “The Kardashians.”

The “American Horror Story” actor homed in on her whirlwind 72-day marriage to her second husband, NBA player Kris Humphries, and the 18-carat ring she says he made her give up.

When the two split, they had a less-than-amicable divorce, and Kim’s emerald-cut engagement ring was caught in the legal crossfire. “I didn’t keep that,” Kardashian said of the ring.

“I was pregnant with North, still married to him. And in order to divorce him, he said I had to give him the ring in my divorce. That I bought. He contributed a fifth.”

Kardashian’s first marriage was at age 19 to music producer Damon Thomas in 2000. The two divorced in 2004.

She later married Humphries in a highly publicized 2011 wedding, but they split shortly after.

Her longest marriage was to rapper Kanye West, from 2014 to 2022. The two share four children together.

Despite going through three divorces, Kardashian doesn’t seem entirely cynical about marriage and joked, “I wonder what my next ring shape will be.”

In an interview last year, Kardashian shared she doesn’t know if she’ll get remarried again, but she isn’t totally shutting it down.
