Diana Asamoah Consoles Agradaa’s Husband

Gospel singer Diana Asamoah has described the 15-year jail term handed to former traditional priestess-turned-evangelist Nana Agradaa as part of a divine plan rather than a mere coincidence.

Reacting via an Instagram video, Asamoah urged Agradaa’s husband, Angel Asiamah, to remain steadfast and not lose hope during this challenging period. “I want to tell Angel Asiamah not to worry. He should return as a transformed person. He is a great evangelist,” she stated.

Asamoah expressed a strong belief that Agradaa’s prison sentence is God’s way of preparing her for a genuine spiritual mission.

“God has deliberately allowed her to be imprisoned for a purpose. God knows why He has separated her from her properties. When God calls you and you’re being stubborn, He has a way of humbling you.”

She further cautioned individuals who claim to be divinely called but act contrary to their calling, warning, “To those of you who claim to be called by God yet are selling gari, and when I speak out you threaten my life, your time will come. Don’t worry.”

Meanwhile, a prison officer, identified as Mr Owusu, said the controversial preacher would have to survive on a paltry daily allocation of GH₵ 1.80.

He said that the allocation was woefully inadequate and claimed that authorities have refused to increase it despite that having been the policy for more than a decade.

“We feed them on GH₵ 1.80 per day, which comes out to 60 pesewas for breakfast, lunch, and supper. How much does one sachet of water cost? This means feeding 1,600 prisoners one meal in a day costs less than GH₵ 1,000 to the state, making the quality of food quite bad.”

Mr Owusu

Mr Owusu asked the host of the show to state what food he thinks prisoners can eat with such a paltry allocation, when it’s not even enough for one meal in a day, much less three.

“Look at the well-built men and women in prison; how can that amount feed them? If I ask you [the host] to feed yourself with GH₵ 5 a day, what can you buy? Tell me! Our officers are working magic to be able to feed them with such little amounts.”

Mr Owusu

Nana Agradaa was convicted on July 3, 2025, for charlatanic advertisement and multiple counts of defrauding by false pretence. Her conviction followed a widely circulated 2022 video in which she pledged to “double” cash offerings brought to her church in Weija.

Angel Asiamah, husband of embattled televangelist Nana Agradaa, announced a revised service schedule for the Heaven Way Champion International Ministry, following his wife’s recent 15-year prison sentence at Nsawam.

Mr Asiamah, who has long served as the church’s junior pastor, is now acting as head pastor in Agradaa’s absence. Taking to his TikTok account, he shared a flyer outlining the new fellowship days and church activities.

The flyer features an image of the couple dressed in elegant, star-studded all-black outfits, with Nana Agradaa standing before him in what many interpret as a symbolic gesture of unity and loyalty.

The visual suggests that despite her incarceration, Mr Asiamah intends to uphold the ministry’s operations in her honour.

According to the flyer, church fellowship will now take place on Sundays and Tuesdays, with each session running from 7:00 am to 1:30 pm.

Mr Asiamah’s commitment to continuing the church’s mission has drawn both praise and prayers from Ghanaians on social media, with many expressing admiration for his dedication during a difficult time.

Ghanaians could not hold their excitement when they saw how seriously Angel Asiamah was taking up his role as the interim head pastor of Agradaa’s church.

Others also prayed for strength for Mr Asiamah as his wife goes away and spends 15 years in prison at Nsawam.

“Never forget this scripture, Job 22:29.”
