The Government of Ghana has condemned a drone incident near Dubai International Airport that left two Ghanaian nationals injured, according to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ghana.
The incident occurred on March 11, 2026, when authorities in the United Arab Emirates informed Ghanaian officials that two citizens had sustained injuries following a drone-related event in the vicinity of the airport.
In a press release issued in Accra, the Ministry said the government strongly condemns acts that endanger civilian lives and threaten critical infrastructure.
“The Government of Ghana strongly condemns any act that endangers civilian lives and critical infrastructure,” the statement said, adding that such incidents pose serious risks to public safety and international transport hubs.

Ghana’s Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates has led a delegation from the country’s embassy in Abu Dhabi and the consulate in Dubai to visit the injured nationals in hospital. According to the Ministry, the injuries sustained by the two Ghanaians are not life-threatening and they are expected to make a full recovery.
Officials said consular staff are providing the necessary assistance while maintaining close coordination with authorities in the host country. “We therefore urge calm as we continue to extend consular assistance and collaborate closely with host authorities,” the statement noted.
Government Monitoring Situation
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said it is closely monitoring developments surrounding the incident and will continue to engage relevant authorities where necessary.
It also expressed concern over the incident and conveyed the government’s sympathies to the injured individuals and their families. Officials reaffirmed Ghana’s commitment to protecting the welfare of its citizens abroad, noting that diplomatic missions remain actively involved in assisting nationals when incidents occur.

“The Ministry reiterates the Government of Ghana’s commitment to the protection and welfare of Ghanaian citizens wherever they may be,” the statement said.
The government also used the opportunity to urge Ghanaian nationals living in the Gulf region to remain vigilant and follow guidance issued by Ghana’s diplomatic missions and local authorities.
Authorities stressed the importance of adhering to safety directives, particularly in situations involving security concerns or disruptions. Ghana’s Foreign Affairs Ministry said it will continue to provide updates on the situation as necessary.
Ghana Supports Efforts Toward De-Escalation
The government also indicated that Ghana is supporting ongoing consultations within the United Nations aimed at achieving a ceasing the conflicts related to the wider tensions surrounding the incident.

Officials say Ghana remains committed to promoting peace and stability through diplomatic engagement and international cooperation.
The Ministry added that it will continue to coordinate closely with Ghana’s diplomatic missions and relevant stakeholders to ensure the safety and well-being of Ghanaian nationals in the region. Authorities said further updates will be provided as the situation develops.
