US To Work With Iran On Nuclear Removal

Trump Rebuffs Putin’s Offer To Aid Israel-Iran Conflict Mediation

US President, Donald Trump.

President Donald Trump has said that the US will work with Iran to dig up and remove buried uranium in the country in a social media post that came as a two-week ceasefire began.

Trump said that the United States had determined that developments in Iran would lead to a new phase of engagement between the two countries, signaling a shift toward cooperation after a period of heightened tensions in the region.

“The United States will work closely with Iran, which we have determined has gone through what will be a very productive Regime Change! There will be no enrichment of Uranium, and the United States will, working with Iran, dig up and remove all of the deeply buried (B-2 Bombers) Nuclear ‘Dust.’”

Donald Trump

Washington has long maintained that Iran must not develop nuclear weapons capability, while Tehran has repeatedly stated that its nuclear activities are intended for civilian purposes.

The US administration has frequently emphasized the importance of preventing nuclear proliferation in the Middle East, with uranium enrichment remaining one of the most contentious issues in discussions surrounding Iran’s nuclear program. Enrichment refers to the process of increasing the concentration of uranium isotopes, which can be used for civilian nuclear energy but also has potential military applications if enriched to higher levels.

Trump’s assertion that there would be “no enrichment of Uranium” suggests a scenario in which Iran’s nuclear activities would be significantly limited or restructured under cooperation with the United States.

His reference to removing deeply buried nuclear material also points to concerns about facilities and materials located underground, which have historically been seen as difficult to access or neutralize due to their fortified construction.

The mention of B-2 bombers in Trump’s message appeared to reference military capabilities, though the US President framed the removal of nuclear material as a joint effort between the United States and Iran.

Trump’s message did not provide a detailed timeline or framework for how the proposed cooperation with Iran would unfold. It also did not specify which institutions or international bodies might be involved in overseeing nuclear-related activities mentioned in the post.

Nevertheless, the statement signals a development in Washington’s messaging toward Iran, particularly in its suggestion that both countries could work together on addressing nuclear materials and limiting enrichment.

Trump also said that sanctions relief for Iran will be discussed and that many aspects of a 15-point plan had been agreed. The President and Tehran had previously said that a 10-point plan put forth by the Iranians would serve as the basis for the talks.

Iran’s Supreme National Security Council released a statement outlining that Iran’s 10-point plan “emphasizes fundamental matters” like the “regulated passage through the Strait of Hormuz under the coordination of the Armed Forces of Iran.” The statement added that this would grant Iran a “unique economic and geopolitical standing.”

Countries That Supply Weapons To Iran To Face Trump Tariffs

In a second social media post, Trump warned any country that supplies weapons to Iran would face tariffs.

“A Country supplying Military Weapons to Iran will be immediately tariffed, on any and all goods sold to the United States of America, 50%, effective immediately. There will be no exclusions or exemptions!”

Earlier, Trump suggested that the United States may be involved in securing the Strait of Hormuz in a “joint venture” with Iran.

Trump said that the US will be “helping with the traffic buildup in the Strait of Hormuz,” just hours after announcing a two-week ceasefire between the US and Iran contingent on the “COMPLETE, IMMEDIATE, and SAFE OPENING” of the critical waterway.

“There will be lots of positive action! Big money will be made. Iran can start the reconstruction process. We’ll be loading up with supplies of all kinds, and just ‘hangin’ around’ in order to make sure that everything goes well. I feel confident that it will.”

Donald Trump

Meanwhile, Tehran said that Iran’s military will coordinate the passage of ships.

Iranian Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi said that during the two weeks, safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz “will be possible via coordination with Iran’s Armed Forces and with due consideration of technical limitations.”

Aragachi also expressed gratitude to Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Pakistani Army Chief Asim Munir for urging Trump to implement a ceasefire.
