Ghanaian music producer Da’Hammer, widely known as Hammer of The Last Two, has announced a highly anticipated new single titled “SIKA,” featuring rappers Teephlow and Sarkodie.

The track is scheduled for release on Thursday, September 3, 2026, marking another significant moment in the veteran producer’s ongoing Upper Echelons project.

The artwork prominently displays the title “SIKA,” credits the features, and includes a biblical reference to Proverbs 6:6-11, a passage that emphasizes diligence, hard work, and the rewards of industry  themes that align closely with the Akan word “sika,” meaning money or gold.

Sarkodie himself quickly amplified the news by sharing the official pre-save link on his verified account, signaling his full involvement and generating immediate excitement across Ghanaian social media. Fan accounts and music pages followed suit, highlighting the collaboration as a major moment for Ghanaian hip-hop and hiplife.

Da’Hammer, born Edward Nana Poku Osei, remains one of the most influential figures in Ghanaian music. As founder of The Last Two Music Group, he played a pivotal role in shaping the careers of several leading artists in the early 2000s and beyond.

He is credited with discovering and producing for pioneers such as Obrafour, Kwaw Kese, and a young Sarkodie, whom he once described as a “rap encyclopedia.” Although Sarkodie later moved on to build his own empire under Sarkcess Music, the mutual respect between the two has endured, with multiple collaborations over the years.

Teephlow, a technically gifted lyricist known for intricate wordplay and storytelling, also shares history with Da’Hammer. He was previously signed to The Last Two Music Group after placing highly in a talent competition and released notable work under the imprint before going independent. His return to a Hammer production alongside Sarkodie represents a full-circle moment for fans of the “Last Two” sound.

“SIKA” arrives as part of Da’Hammer’s ambitious Upper Echelons project. The producer first announced the 20-track album in December 2025, describing it as a celebration of Ghana’s top-tier talent. Lead singles such as “The Boys” (featuring Joey B, Sarkodie, and Medikal) and later releases including “The Fire” (featuring Sarkodie, E.L, and Benjies) have already reintroduced his signature production style  hard-hitting, sample-driven, and rooted in classic hiplife and hip-hop aesthetics to a new generation of listeners.

Public Reaction

Industry observers note that Da’Hammer’s return after a relatively quiet period has been met with strong support from both peers and fans. His ability to unite established stars with skilled wordsmiths like Teephlow highlights his reputation as a curator of high-caliber collaborations.

The inclusion of the Proverbs reference suggests the track may explore themes of hustle, financial ambition, and the discipline required to achieve success  topics that resonate deeply in Ghanaian and broader African hip-hop culture.

The pre-save campaign launched simultaneously with the announcement has already drawn significant engagement. Music platforms and promotional pages have begun circulating the artwork, while fans speculate about the sonic direction.

Many expect a hard-edged beat characteristic of Hammer’s classic work, paired with Teephlow’s dense lyricism and Sarkodie’s trademark precision and charisma.

For Sarkodie, the collaboration adds another high-profile feature to an already prolific career. Often regarded as one of Africa’s premier rappers, the artist known as the “Landlord” continues to balance solo projects, international performances, and select collaborations that reinforce his stature.

Appearing on a Da’Hammer track also serves as a nod to his roots and the producer who helped launch him.

Teephlow’s participation is equally notable. After establishing himself as an independent force with projects that showcase his technical prowess, rejoining forces with his former mentor and one of Ghana’s biggest stars positions him for renewed mainstream attention.

As the September 3 release date approaches, anticipation continues to build across social media and music circles in Ghana and the diaspora. The track is expected to appear on major streaming platforms, with promotional efforts likely to include visual content and further artist commentary in the coming days.

Da’Hammer’s Upper Echelons project has already demonstrated his enduring relevance. With “SIKA,” he once again brings together distinct voices from different eras of Ghanaian hip-hop under one cohesive vision.

Listeners can pre-save the track now ahead of its official drop this Thursday. For many fans, the combination of Hammer’s production, Teephlow’s bars, and Sarkodie’s star power represents exactly the kind of quality collaboration the Ghanaian music scene continues to celebrate.
