Former National Organizer for the New Patriotic Party, and a member of the ‘Bawumia for President Campaign team’ , Sammi Awuku, has called on the Alan Kyerematen Campaign Team, to support the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s vision to ‘Break the 8’ in the upcoming 2024 General Elections.
According to him, the party’s unity at this crucial moment will define the fortunes and outcome of the 2024 general elections. To this end, he urged all supporters of the candidates who couldn’t make it to the top 5 and supporters of aspirants who made it to the top 5, to come together.
Mr Awuku further entreated party members to resolve their differences and once again, position the NPP as the party of choice ahead of the 2024 General Elections to deliver economic prosperity for the nation.
“To my very own astute communicator and sister Hon. Catherine Abelema Afeku, Yaw Buaben Asamoa, Esq. Hopeson Adorye, Davis Ansah Opoku MP, Hon. Dr. Samiu Kwadwo Nuamah, Collins Randy Owusu Amankwah, Richard Barima Sarpong, you have done a good job and been greatly missed. Come join us, and let’s all work for another emphatic New Patriotic Party (NPP: Development in Freedom) victory in 2024.”

Bawumia’s campaign team cautioned
In his address to team Bawumia, the former national organizer of the NPP cautioned them now is not the time for the team to make it “us versus others” in the party, or a time to pass uncomplimentary remarks to aggravate wounds as Dr. Bawumia has admonished his campaigners. Instead, he emphasized that this is a time to reach out to each and every one to make the 2024 campaign and election victory a possibility.
Furthermore, Mr Awuku expressed that the journey ahead of the 2024 elections won’t be easy, however, with all party members playing a role, Dr. Bawumia can surely lead the party to Break the 8.
“I kindly call on you all on behalf of DMB to hit the road together… The challenges we face today as a party and country may be fearsome, but so are our strengths. Dr. Bawumia and his team will work hand in hand with each and everyone within the NPP and outside the party to once again deliver victory in 2024. I miss my brothers and sisters in all the camps of our party. Please come and let’s work together!”

Meanwhile, in anticipation of the 2024 general elections, flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has entreated Ghanaians who have attained the age of 18 and above without voter ID cards to take advantage of the Electoral Commission’s limited voter registration exercise to get registered.
Speaking in a Facebook live video today, September 6, Mr Mahama emphasized the need for the exercise to be held at the electoral areas instead of limiting it to the district offices of the Electoral Commission. In light of this, he called on the EC to reconsider its decision to restrict the exercise to its district offices only, maintaining that access to voter ID cards should be easy and not limited by location.
“I am here to encourage you, wherever you are in Ghana or beyond, that if you don’t have a voter ID card, especially if you have just turned 18, please take advantage of this exercise which starts on September 12, 2023. Start making the necessary arrangements to register and get your voter’s ID card.”
