Dr Bawumia

Dennis Miracles, a member of Bawumia’s team, has said that delegates should elect Dr. Bawumia to prevent Ghana from going into an economic pendulum.

Dennis Miracles argued that the NPP deserved an experienced leader.

According to him, Dr. Bawumia possesses these qualities and as such, deserves to become the leader of the party and subsequently the President of Ghana.

“They have to salvage and save the future of Ghana. They have to protect Ghana from going through an economic pendulum…They would have found a leader who can give us hope…

“None of them has the level of experience and exposure that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has. Experience is not about the number of years but the role you have played that gives you experience. For 20 years, he has led our party. He has been part of the National Council since 2008. He has been a Running Mate for four elections and Vice President for two terms; which is eight years. There is none in our party today running this contest who can say he has the level of political experience and exposure that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has.”

The upcoming presidential election of the New Patriotic Party is scheduled for this Saturday, November 4, wherein the party will select a flagbearer from a pool of four contenders. The candidates include Kennedy Agyapong, the Assin Central lawmaker, Dr. Owusu Afriyie-Akoto, former Agric Minister, Thomas Addai Nimoh, and the Vice President.

Anticipating a dynamic competition among the candidates, the election is expected to involve the active participation of over 200,000 delegates. Ghanaians are eagerly awaiting the unfolding of events, particularly the anticipated clash between Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and Kennedy Agyapong.

Each candidate has adopted distinct slogans, with phrases such as “The signal is strong,” “it is possible,” and “Showdown”, among others, embodying their preparedness for the imminent electoral battle this Saturday.

Highlights Of Heat

There have been memorable moments of heat on this journey, however, one stands out. The Second Lady who had been quite distant from the political scene made a “big” return when she spited Mr. Agyapong.

In an unexpected retort, the unconventional politician warned that should he respond to the personal attack by Mrs. Bawumia, her marriage would crumble. Hence he refused to respond to the obvious jabs at him from the Second Lady. That was very unusual of the controversial lawmaker.

However, the statement made by Ken Agyapong during an interview has swiftly circulated across various social media platforms. Denying any allegations regarding his ill-treatment of women, Agyapong emphasized that those who initially claimed the Second Lady did not explicitly mention any names in her speech would be quick to label him as disrespectful towards women if he were to engage without pinpointing individuals.

Agyapong was resolute in his decision not to contribute to the breakdown of the Second Lady’s marriage. “I have made a vow not to comment,” he affirmed.

He justified his stance by pointing to his silence in response to the comments made by the Second Lady about him. When the interviewer suggested that his statements, without clarification, could imply ulterior motives, Agyapong reiterated, “I said I won’t talk.”

He further supported his position by referring to Samira Bawumia’s accusations that he had secured lucrative government contracts and benefited significantly, a tarnish on the party’s reputation.

Meanwhile, the Second Lady had urged constituents in the Amansie Constituency to disregard Agyapong’s statements about ensuring the NPP’s defeat if he were to lose the flag bearer contest.

“We need to demonstrate through our words that this election holds immense importance for the party. Therefore, we must avoid any missteps and display a united front. That is why we should all support a candidate who can lead us to victory. However, those who are campaigning with animosity and advocating for the party’s defeat if things don’t go their way, can we endorse such a stance?”

She also added that the contender who vowed to lead the NPP into opposition would not enjoy the privileges he had previously garnered should the NPP lose its position in government.
