AratheJay has announced a special edition of his signature live show, the Nimo Live Experience, set for Saturday, September 6, 2026, at Hilite, Ahodwo Roundabout in Kumasi.

The event, scheduled to begin at 8 p.m., will feature guest performances from Kojo Blak, Beeztrap KOTM, Skyface SDW, and O’Kenneth, with tickets priced at 100 Ghana cedis.

The announcement, circulated widely through promotional materials and entertainment accounts, marks a notable expansion of the Nimo Live series beyond its usual Accra base. Previous editions of Nimo Live took place at Alliance Française in Accra, where AratheJay delivered intimate yet high-energy performances that blended his spiritual highlife sound with Afrobeats, hip-hop, and personal storytelling.

Those shows drew strong crowds and critical praise for their production quality, surprise collaborations, and the artist’s commanding stage presence.

AratheJay, whose real name is Samuel Ofei Ankrah Badu and who often performs under the persona Nimo K. Constantine, has built a reputation as one of Ghana’s most compelling live performers in recent years. Born in Sekondi-Takoradi and with roots in the Eastern Region, he spent part of his childhood in Kenya, an experience that influenced his musical palette with East African rhythms alongside traditional Ghanaian highlife and Jamaican dancehall elements. His breakthrough tracks, including “Sankofa” and the widely celebrated “Jesus Christ II” featuring Black Sherif, established him as a distinctive voice capable of merging faith-driven themes with contemporary urban sounds.

The “Finding Nimo Series” has framed much of his artistic journey. The 2024 EP The Capsule and the 2025 debut album The Odyssey explored themes of self-discovery, resilience, struggle, and spiritual growth. The Odyssey in particular expanded his reach, accumulating tens of millions of streams and supporting a successful European headline tour that included stops in Hamburg and London.

The Nimo Live concerts have served as both celebration and culmination of these projects, allowing the artist to present the full narrative of his music in a live setting with a band and carefully curated guests.

Bringing the experience to Kumasi represents a significant step. The Ashanti Region capital has long been a vital hub for Ghanaian music, and Ahodwo Roundabout is a recognizable landmark in the city. Staging the show at Hilite positions it as an accessible evening event for local fans who may not have traveled to Accra for previous editions.

The choice of guests further strengthens the bill. Beeztrap KOTM and O’Kenneth are established figures in the new-school Ghanaian scene known for their energetic deliveries and collaborative chemistry. Skyface SDW brings his distinctive style and growing catalog, while Kojo Blak adds another layer of contemporary flair. Together they create a lineup that balances AratheJay’s melodic and spiritual core with harder-edged and rhythmic support.

Ticket pricing at 100 cedis aims to keep the show relatively accessible while reflecting the production values associated with the Nimo Live brand. Organizers have not yet released full details on supporting acts, stage design, or additional special appearances, but past editions featured theatrical entrances, costume changes, live-band arrangements, and emotional high points that left lasting impressions on audiences.

Public Reaction

Fans have come to expect a mix of album deep cuts, hit singles, and moments of interaction that feel both polished and personal.

The timing of the September date places the concert outside the traditional December holiday season that previously defined Nimo Live. This shift may allow AratheJay to test a different market and build momentum earlier in the year. It also arrives after a period of continued activity following The Odyssey, including live session releases and visualizers that kept the project visible into 2026.

For many observers, the Kumasi date signals growing confidence and a desire to connect more directly with audiences across the country.

Ghana’s music industry continues to evolve with artists increasingly prioritizing strong live experiences alongside streaming success. Events like Nimo Live contribute to that trend by offering curated, artist-led shows that go beyond standard club or festival appearances.

In Kumasi, the concert has the potential to draw both dedicated followers of AratheJay’s work and casual listeners attracted by the guest lineup and the convenience of a local venue.

As the date approaches, attention will turn to ticket sales, final confirmations of the guest list, and any additional announcements from the artist or organizers. Road works scheduled earlier on September 6 at the Ahodwo Roundabout area are not expected to interfere with the evening event.

For now, the promotional materials present a clear invitation: AratheJay is bringing the Nimo Live Experience to Kumasi, complete with a strong supporting cast and the promise of a memorable night of music.

The announcement reinforces AratheJay’s position as an artist committed to live performance as a central part of his career. What is clear is that on September 6, fans in Kumasi will have the opportunity to experience the artist and his collaborators in a setting designed for connection and celebration.

Those interested are encouraged to secure tickets early and follow official channels for any updates on the full program and logistics.
