Kumawood star, Maame Serwaa, has denied rumours that she had amorous relationships with entertainment personalities Bill Asamoah, Frank Naro, and Awal Mohammed.
She explained that she had only “professional relationships” with them.
“Unless you have more names to mention, I have had nothing to do with all these men you’ve mentioned. If you work and you are neither friendly nor smile, you’ll have problems with people.”

She bemoaned this outlook was what the public unfortunately continues to misconstrue for romance.
Thus, she opined, “Ghanaians don’t like to see men and women become friends.”
“All these seniors you’ve mentioned, I only work with them. Even if we’re not in the same field, we’re all in the same entertainment industry. When you meet your people, you [must] get close and be friendly. It’s nothing bad.”

Maame Serwaa noted that “all my life,” she had been discreet with all her romantic involvements. “If I don’t want you to know, you wouldn’t,” she added.
She asked the public to disregard rumours concerning her private life from all quarters, including from bloggers. “If I do not put such information out myself, please, it’s a lie,” she stressed.
The actress clarified she had nothing against bloggers, understanding their work was necessary for subsistence. However, she urged them to adhere to best practices and “verify your information before you put it out there”.
Maame Serwaa noted that unlike before, when she kept her relationships secret for the sake of it, she had now come to the realization it was a genuinely private matter that had to be respected as such, pending her voluntary disclosure.
She emphasized that she was dating at the moment.
“I made it public recently that I’m going out. Anyone I’ve dated is private to me. But this time around I felt, you know what, it’s not [necessarily] a secret but it’s a private thing to me. I’ll let you know what I want you to know, but it doesn’t mean I won’t date or I won’t see people. I do that – we’re all human. But I’ll let you know what I want you to know. Yeah, I’m in a relationship.”

Maame Serwaa, who has been acting since her girlhood, resisted identifying the man who surprised her at her birthday party and who was rumoured to be her current lover.
Maame Serwaa Swoons Over McBrown
The Kumawood movie star indicated what she loves most about movie and media star Nana Ama McBrown is her attitude towards criticism and carries herself.
Maame Serwaa was asked about her relationship with McBrown.
“We’re very cool. That’s my mother. I have so much respect for that woman. Let’s put aside the respect people have for her. She respects herself. When she is attacked, she keeps quiet and uses her actions to prove her critics wrong. That’s the only thing I admire from that woman.”

The young woman who began acting as a child agreed Nana Ama McBrown was the most successful woman in Ghana, when the host said he had seen an animated conversation on that matter a night before.
“I love seeing women winning. I love it so much. In past eras, men were on top. This time around, a woman is proving that we can do better as women. It shouldn’t always be trending with negativity, you should trend with positive things, too.”
“Nana Ama McBrown is leading, and she respects herself. Her work and actions do the talking for her. That’s the only thing. And that’s what I’m trying to be, also.”

Maame Serwaa, born Clara Amoateng Benson, thought aloud, inspired by McBrown: “People will talk. There’s no need to talk [back]. Just let your works prove them wrong.”
Moreover, Maame Serwaa opened up about some of the things he had acquired working in film all these years.
“I have land, and I have built a house. I am building one in Accra at the moment, but I already have one in Kumasi. I thank God, my fans, the producers who have supported me, and the brands that have worked with me, and I ask for God’s blessings for them all. I wouldn’t have become who I am without them.”

Thereafter, the film star who began as a child indicated she was “just ready” to work with any brand interested in a partnership. “Who doesn’t like money?” she added, laughing.
Maame Serwaa noted she was an influence on the youth “someway, somehow” and so would not want to work with “anything aphrodisiac”.
“For that, in particular, I cannot do it. Everybody out there does whatever they want to do, but for me, schoolchildren also watch me, so it’d be very, very difficult to advertise aphrodisiac products.”

Here, Maama Serwaa demonstrated a keen understanding of her power as a public figure, choosing to place profit second to being a responsible and positive influence.
