The newly appointed Chinese Ambassador to Ghana, Cong Song, has paid a courtesy call on the Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, reiterating China’s dedication to deepening the bilateral relations and advancing cooperation between the two countries.
The meeting, which was held at the Ministry of the Interior, emphasized the long-lasting diplomatic ties between the two countries. During the meeting, both Hon. Muntaka and the Chinese ambassador stated their dedication to putting measures in place that will help to expand partnership in sectors of governance, security, and economic development.
“Hon. Muntaka welcomed the Ambassador to Ghana and commended the positive working relationship between the Ministry, the Chinese Embassy, and the Chinese community in the country. He emphasized the need for continued collaboration, particularly in areas such as building, technology, and knowledge exchange to enhance the effectiveness of Ghana’s security services.”

During the engagement, Ambassador Cong Song highlighted the strategic importance of Ghana’s Ministry of the Interior in maintaining national stability and security. He described the Ministry as a cornerstone of Ghana’s governance framework, emphasizing its critical role in ensuring peace, enforcing law and order, and safeguarding the country’s democratic institutions.

His Excellency Cong Song restated the Chinese government’s assurance of contributing its part to ensure that the developmental agenda of Ghana is achieved. He opined that the Chinese Embassy is ready and committed to collaborating with Ghana and enhancing strong diplomatic, economic, and cultural relations.
He asserted that the Embassy of China is ready to work closely with Ghanaian leaders to promote mutual interests and reinforce collaboration across many areas.
Chinese Nationals Urged To Respect The Laws of Ghana
One of the important matters that was raised during the meeting was the behavior of Chinese citizens living and working in Ghana. Ambassador Song highlighted the significance of obedience to Ghanaian laws, predominantly in areas where foreign participation has raised concerns.

He further implored the Chinese nationals in Ghana to respect local rules and contribute positively to the host country’s socio-economic environment.
