The Accra High Court has granted bail to the Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC, following roughly nine days in the custody of the Bureau of National Investigations on charges linked to false publication.
The ruling was delivered on Thursday, May 21, 2026, bringing temporary relief to the outspoken politician after his earlier remand by Accra Circuit Court 9 sparked public and political debate.
The High Court admitted Abronye DC to bail in the sum of GH¢100,000 with two sureties, while imposing additional conditions aimed at ensuring his continued availability for the ongoing legal process.
Court Imposes Strict Bail Conditions
As part of the bail terms, the court ordered Abronye DC to surrender all passports and travel documents to the court registry. He is also required to report to the Criminal Investigations Department every fortnight as investigations and legal proceedings continue.
