Special Advisor and Aide to President John Dramani Mahama, Joyce Bawah Mogtari, has praised the President’s leadership and international engagements, describing his efforts as a purposeful journey toward resetting Ghana and strengthening the country’s standing on the global stage.
Reflecting on President Mahama’s recent visit to the United Kingdom, Madam Bawah Mogtari said the trip reinforced Ghana’s commitment to strategic diplomacy, economic cooperation, and international partnerships at a time when the country is pursuing an ambitious programme of economic recovery and transformation.
According to her, the visit was both productive and rewarding, not only from a diplomatic perspective but also in terms of promoting Ghana’s interests to international investors, policymakers, and development partners.
She noted that her years of experience in international development, public service, and the private sector have given her the opportunity to work with different leaders and institutions, making her current role particularly significant.
“To serve President John Dramani Mahama at this time has been a remarkable experience,” she stated.

Ghana’s Legacy of Global Engagement
Madam Bawah Mogtari emphasized that Ghana’s active role in international affairs did not begin today but forms part of a long tradition established by the country’s founding leaders.
She observed that throughout its nearly seven decades of independence, Ghana has consistently played a prominent role in global diplomacy and international cooperation. Since the era of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, the country has remained committed to multilateral engagement and the principles of peaceful coexistence.
According to her, Ghana’s longstanding policy of neutrality has helped the country maintain productive relationships with nations across different regions and political systems.
“Ghana’s policy of neutrality has, over the years, served as a model for diplomacy, international cooperation, and strategic partnership. In international relations, as in life, it is always best to live in harmony with one’s neighbours, and Ghana has consistently done just that.”

She added that Ghana’s ability to build and sustain strong relations with its neighbours and international partners has contributed significantly to its reputation as a respected voice in global affairs.

Strategic Foreign Policy Under Mahama
Madam Bawah Mogtari said President Mahama’s administration has adopted a deliberate and strategic approach to foreign policy, ensuring that Ghana remains relevant and influential in an increasingly complex global environment.
She explained that as geopolitical tensions and economic uncertainties continue to reshape international relations, Ghana’s balanced and pragmatic foreign policy has become even more important.
According to her, the President has worked to strengthen Ghana’s international standing while advancing national interests through diplomacy, trade, and investment partnerships.
She added that the administration’s efforts have enhanced Ghana’s credibility and reinforced confidence among international partners seeking stable and reliable relationships in Africa.
Strengthening Ties With the United Kingdom
A key focus of the President’s recent visit was the strengthening of relations between Ghana and the United Kingdom. Madam Bawah Mogtari noted that the visit reaffirmed Ghana’s commitment to maintaining and expanding its longstanding diplomatic and economic ties with the UK.

She said discussions held during the visit helped deepen cooperation in areas of mutual interest while creating opportunities for enhanced trade and investment.
The engagements also provided a platform for Ghana to showcase its economic reforms and development priorities to global stakeholders. According to her, the positive reception received by the Ghanaian delegation reflected growing confidence in the country’s economic direction and leadership.
Ghana Open for Business
Madam Bawah Mogtari stressed that one of the strongest messages emerging from the visit was President Mahama’s commitment to positioning Ghana as an attractive destination for investment and business.
She said the administration continues to implement policies aimed at improving the investment climate, strengthening economic stability, and creating opportunities for sustainable growth.

The visit, she explained, reinforced the government’s message that Ghana is ready to engage with international investors and development partners on mutually beneficial terms. “All in all, the visit struck the right notes. It reinforces President Mahama’s message that Ghana is open for business,” she said.
She further observed that the growing interest shown by international stakeholders demonstrates confidence in Ghana’s future prospects and the government’s reform agenda.
Advancing the Reset Ghana Vision
Madam Bawah Mogtari concluded that the outcomes of the UK visit are consistent with President Mahama’s broader vision of resetting Ghana through economic transformation, strategic partnerships, and effective governance.
She said the administration remains committed to rebuilding confidence, attracting investment, and creating opportunities that will improve the lives of Ghanaians.
According to her, the international response to Ghana’s renewed engagement strategy suggests that the country is well-positioned to strengthen its global partnerships and accelerate development.

“The message remains clear: President Mahama is on a purposeful path towards #ResettingGhana, and the world appears ready to engage with us,” she stated.
Her remarks underscore the administration’s belief that meaningful international partnerships, combined with sound domestic policies, will play a crucial role in achieving Ghana’s long term development objectives and securing a more prosperous future for its citizens.
