A delegation from Enclave Power has undertaken a study tour of the Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo) Pokuase Substation in Accra as part of efforts to enhance operational efficiency within its electricity distribution network.

The delegation, led by General Manager of Enclave Power, Ing. Matthew Seddoh Akatey, engaged with engineers and technical personnel managing the substation to gain deeper insights into its operational systems and performance.

The visit formed part of Enclave Power’s ongoing efforts to strengthen technical capacity and improve the management of critical infrastructure serving customers within the Free Zones Enclave.

Officials from both organisations used the engagement to exchange knowledge and discuss operational experiences relating to power transmission and transformer performance.

A key objective of the study tour was to understand the performance parameters of 330/34.5 kV transformers operating within the GRIDCo network.

According to officials, the engagement provided an opportunity for the Enclave Power team to gain practical insights into the operation, monitoring and management of high-voltage transformer systems.

The knowledge acquired is expected to support decision-making and operational planning within Enclave Power’s electricity distribution network.

Technical Knowledge Exchange

The GRIDCo technical team was led by Ing. Daniel Laryea Annan, who, together with Assistant Chief Technician Engineer, Mr. Michael Koranteng, provided detailed presentations on the operational setup of the Pokuase Substation.

The discussions covered key aspects of substation management, equipment performance and operational procedures that contribute to the reliability of electricity transmission within the national grid.
