Ghana National Gas Limited Company (Ghana Gas) has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening collaboration with the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) following a high-level engagement between the leadership of the two institutions.
Chief Executive Officer of Ghana Gas, Judith Adjobah Blay, led a delegation on a courtesy call to the Chief Executive of the National Petroleum Authority, Godwin Kudzo Tameklo.
The visit follows an earlier meeting held in August 2025, where both organizations explored opportunities for collaboration aimed at supporting growth and efficiency within Ghana’s downstream petroleum sector.
Discussions during the latest engagement focused on promoting the smooth operation of Ghana Gas and identifying areas of mutual cooperation that could strengthen the delivery of services across the energy value chain.
“Following the meeting we had in August last year, we agreed to meet again and discuss a few more technical issues that have bearing on the work of NPA and Ghana Gas. This is because we serve businesses and sometimes these meetings are very necessary to be held often, so that we can be on the same page as to how we serve these companies that come to us.”

Strengthening Institutional Collaboration
Speaking during the meeting, Ms. Blay emphasized the importance of regular engagements between the two institutions, describing them as strategic partners within Ghana’s energy sector.
She noted that continuous dialogue is necessary to ensure both organizations remain aligned in addressing industry challenges and supporting businesses operating within the petroleum value chain.
According to her, closer cooperation would help improve coordination and enhance the efficiency of services provided to industry stakeholders.
NPA Assures Continued Support
Responding to the remarks, NPA Chief Executive Godwin Kudzo Tameklo [Esq] thanked the Ghana Gas delegation for the visit and reaffirmed the Authority’s commitment to supporting the operations of the state-owned gas company.
He assured Ghana Gas that the NPA would continue to execute its regulatory mandate in a manner that promotes operational efficiency and sector growth.

Mr. Tameklo also indicated that the Authority would intensify efforts in areas requiring regulatory support to ensure that Ghana Gas is able to carry out its activities without unnecessary challenges.
The meeting underscored the importance of collaboration among key institutions within Ghana’s energy sector as the country seeks to strengthen its petroleum and gas industries.
Both organizations acknowledged the need for continued engagement and cooperation in addressing operational issues and supporting industry participants.
The discussions also reflected a broader commitment to creating an enabling environment for businesses while promoting efficiency across the downstream petroleum sector.
Advancing Ghana’s Energy Agenda
The engagement between Ghana Gas and the NPA comes at a time when stakeholders are increasingly emphasizing institutional coordination as a key driver of energy sector development.

Industry observers note that stronger collaboration between regulatory bodies and state-owned energy companies can contribute to improved service delivery, enhanced operational efficiency and sustainable sector growth.
The meeting ultimately reaffirmed the longstanding partnership between Ghana Gas and the National Petroleum Authority, highlighting a shared commitment to supporting Ghana’s energy development objectives and strengthening the country’s petroleum downstream sector.
