Olivia Rodrigo has unveiled plans for Daisy Chain Fields, her ambitious all-female music festival set to transform Irvine, California, into a celebration of women in music on August 29, 2026.

The one-day event at Great Park will feature a powerhouse lineup of artists spanning generations, with 100 percent of net ticket proceeds directed toward nonprofits advocating for women and girls.

The announcement, shared via social media and a Pitchfork cover story published on June 22, 2026, has sent waves of excitement through the music industry. Rodrigo, fresh off the success of her third studio album You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love, described the festival as a long-held dream finally realized.

“I’ve had a dream of doing this festival for years and I am so ecstatic it’s finally coming true,” she posted on X.

Headlining the event, Rodrigo will be joined by a stellar roster of female and female-fronted acts. Confirmed performers include Chappell Roan, Doechii, Mitski, Santigold, Rachel Chinouriri, KATSEYE, Bikini Kill, Garbage, The Breeders, and Die Spitz, among others. Special guests are set to feature rock legends Stevie Nicks, Karen O, and Sarah McLachlan.

The diverse bill blends Gen-Z pop and hip-hop stars with indie icons and influential veterans, creating what Rodrigo calls “truly insane and full of my heroes and friends.”

The festival’s philanthropic focus is central to its mission. All performers are waiving their fees so that every dollar from ticket sales—after essential production costs supports organizations such as the Center for Reproductive Rights, Black Mamas Matter Alliance, Johns Hopkins Center for Indigenous Health, National Women’s Law Center, Planned Parenthood, and Baby2Baby.

This commitment positions Daisy Chain Fields as more than a concert series; it aims to be a platform for empowerment and tangible impact.

Rodrigo’s vision echoes the spirit of the groundbreaking 1990s Lilith Fair, which championed women artists during an era when they often struggled for equal festival billing. In her Pitchfork interview, she expressed a deep personal connection to the project, stating it feels like her calling.

The event seeks to create a safe, joyful space where women and girls can see themselves represented at every level from the stage to behind-the-scenes production roles.

Fans Reaction

Industry observers have praised the initiative for its boldness and timeliness. As female artists continue to dominate charts and streaming platforms, Daisy Chain Fields highlights the commercial and cultural power of women-led lineups.

Chappell Roan’s meteoric rise, Doechii’s genre-bending creativity, and Mitski’s introspective artistry exemplify the current golden age of diverse female voices in popular music. The inclusion of trailblazers like Stevie Nicks adds historical weight and intergenerational appeal.

Tickets are expected to generate significant demand. Presale begins June 24 at 10 a.m. PT, with general sales to follow. Prices start at $250, reflecting the premium experience and charitable component.

Organizers anticipate a capacity crowd at the Irvine venue, known for hosting large-scale events.

Social media reaction has been overwhelmingly positive, with fans celebrating the “girls’ girl” ethos and the stacked lineup. Hashtags related to the festival quickly trended, though some users raised questions about specific artist inclusions and broader industry politics.

Overall, the buzz underscores Rodrigo’s influence as both a chart-topping musician and a cultural figure committed to advocacy.

For Rodrigo, 23, the festival represents a natural evolution of her career. Since bursting onto the scene with Sour in 2021, she has used her platform to address mental health, relationships, and social issues.

Her music resonates deeply with young audiences navigating similar experiences, and Daisy Chain Fields extends that connection into a live, communal setting.

Logistically, the event promises high production values suitable for its star power. Great Park offers expansive grounds ideal for multiple stages, art installations, and wellness areas aligned with the empowerment theme.

Attendees can expect not only performances but also opportunities to engage with the supported causes through informational booths and activations.

As the countdown to August 29 begins, Daisy Chain Fields stands out as one of the most anticipated music events of 2026. It arrives at a moment when conversations about equity in the entertainment industry remain vital.

By centering women entirely, Rodrigo is not just curating a festival-she is building a statement about possibility, solidarity, and the enduring impact of music as a force for good.

Music lovers and advocates alike will be watching closely to see how this inaugural event shapes future festivals. If successful, Daisy Chain Fields could inspire a new wave of artist-driven, cause-focused gatherings that prioritize representation and philanthropy.

For now, it offers a rare opportunity to witness history in the making under the California sun, where voices of women past, present, and future will unite on stage.
