Arsenal have secured the future of one of football’s most recognisable commercial relationships after announcing a long-term extension of their partnership with Emirates, keeping the airline as the club’s principal sponsor until 2033.

The renewed agreement ensures Emirates will remain Arsenal’s front-of-shirt sponsor, training kit partner and stadium naming rights partner, extending a relationship that has become one of the longest and most successful sponsorships in Premier League history.

The announcement comes at a time of renewed optimism around the north London club following their recent Premier League triumph. Arsenal believe the new agreement will strengthen the club’s commercial growth while supporting its ambitions on and off the pitch over the coming years.

The next phase of the partnership officially begins this weekend when Arsenal host Borussia Dortmund in the Emirates Cup at Emirates Stadium. The occasion will also launch celebrations marking more than 20 years of collaboration between the club and the Dubai-based airline.

Club executives and Emirates officials, including Emirates Airline President Sir Tim Clark, are expected to attend the anniversary celebrations, which will feature supporter events and activities reflecting on the partnership’s history and future.

Arsenal also unveiled a commemorative campaign film featuring club legend Per Mertesacker, highlighting memorable moments from the Emirates era while looking ahead to the next chapter of the relationship.

A Partnership Built on Two Decades

Arsenal and Emirates first joined forces in 2006, the same year the club moved into Emirates Stadium. Since then, the airline has become one of the club’s most visible commercial partners, with its branding featuring on Arsenal shirts, training apparel and the stadium itself.

Over the years, the collaboration has expanded beyond sponsorship to include initiatives such as the Emirates Cup preseason tournament and the Global Gooners programme, which gives international supporters opportunities to experience matches in north London.

Arsenal Chief Executive Richard Garlick described the renewal as another important milestone in the club’s development.

“Winning the Premier League is an incredibly proud moment in our club’s history and one that belongs to everyone connected with Arsenal. Emirates has been an integral part of this success, standing alongside us throughout this journey and sharing in the defining moments, challenges and successes that have shaped our club over the past two decades.”

He added that the club sees the agreement as a reflection of its long-term ambitions.

“Our renewal reflects a shared belief in Arsenal’s future and a shared determination to keep moving forward. Together, we’ll continue to challenge and build on the strong foundations we have built together.”

Emirates also welcomed the extension, describing the relationship as one that has evolved far beyond a traditional sponsorship.

Sir Tim Clark said the partnership had helped both organisations connect with millions of football supporters across the globe.

“Over the last two decades, Emirates and Arsenal have built something that goes far beyond a traditional partnership, and one we are immensely proud of. We have grown alongside the club through changes of era and ambition, united by a shared goal of bringing people closer to what they love.”

Sir Tim Clark, Emirates Airline President

Clark added that both organisations were excited about building on their shared history. “Very few partnerships in the world of sport can claim foundations like these. We could not be more excited about the history we will make together in the years to come.”

Commercial Growth and Global Reach

Arsenal Chief Commercial Officer Juliet Slot said the renewed agreement reflects the strength of a relationship built on trust and innovation.

“Our partnership with Emirates has become one of world sport’s most defining. Together we’ve always looked beyond traditional partnership and towards creating experiences that bring supporters closer to Arsenal.”

Juliet Slot, Arsenal Chief Commercial Officer

Slot added that the club is entering “the strongest position we’ve ever been in together,” noting that two decades of shared ambition had created a platform for further growth.

The extension reinforces Arsenal’s commercial strategy as the club continues to expand its global profile while investing in its football operations. It also guarantees that Emirates Stadium will retain its name until at least 2033, preserving one of the most recognisable identities in world football.

Arsenal and Emirates began their partnership in 2006 when the club moved from Highbury to the newly built Emirates Stadium. The airline subsequently became the club’s shirt sponsor, creating what is now the Premier League’s longest-running continuous front-of-shirt sponsorship.

Throughout the partnership, the two organisations have collaborated on supporter engagement initiatives, preseason tournaments and global marketing campaigns, making the agreement one of the most enduring commercial relationships in modern football.
