The Agricultural Development Bank (ADB) PLC has expanded its business channels with the introduction of specialised desks aimed at enhancing customer experience, improving service efficiency, and deepening financial inclusion.
The initiative represents a major step in the Bank’s transformation agenda and underscores its ambition to go beyond conventional banking by offering tailored financial and advisory solutions to distinct customer segments.
The newly introduced desks include the Asian & Diaspora Trade Desk, Women’s Business Desk, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Desk, Asset Management & Advisory Services Desk, and an Investment & Wealth Management Desk. Together, these platforms are expected to strengthen ADB’s market positioning and support the evolving needs of businesses and individuals across Ghana’s growing and diverse economy.
A Strategic Shift in Customer Engagement
Speaking on the development, Managing Director of ADB PLC, Edward Ato Sarpong, described the initiative as a significant milestone in the Bank’s transformation journey. According to him, each specialised desk has been carefully designed to deliver industry specific expertise and bespoke financial solutions that address the unique needs of targeted customer groups.
“These new business offerings reflect our commitment to going beyond traditional banking to support our customers in ways that truly matter, just as our corporate tagline, Beyond Banking, signifies.”

Mr Ato Sarpong further explained that the Bank’s vision extends beyond branding, emphasising that the philosophy behind its operations is deeply rooted in national development and inclusive growth.
“Our corporate tagline is not just a slogan but an unwavering commitment to redefining banking, empowering businesses, building futures, driving prosperity, and nurturing communities.”

Empowering Women Through Targeted Financial Support
One of the centrepieces of the expansion is the Women’s Business Desk, which is designed to empower women entrepreneurs and professionals through access to tailored financial products, advisory services, and capacity building support. The desk aims to help women owned businesses grow, remain competitive, and achieve long term sustainability.
Mr Ato Sarpong noted that empowering women is essential to driving economic growth and fostering inclusive development.
“ADB is committed to creating an enabling environment where every segment of society, particularly women, can thrive through access to targeted financial products and expert support. The Women’s Business Desk is more than just a service point — it is a platform for empowerment, partnership, and progress.”

The initiative aligns with broader national and global efforts to close gender gaps in access to finance and strengthen women’s participation in the formal economy.
Strengthening MSMEs and Business Growth
ADB’s MSME Desk reinforces the Bank’s longstanding commitment to small and medium scale enterprises, which remain the backbone of Ghana’s economy. Through this desk, MSMEs will have access to more responsive financing options, business advisory services, and development tools designed to support growth, innovation, and resilience.
By creating a dedicated platform for MSMEs, ADB aims to reduce barriers to finance and provide structured guidance that enables entrepreneurs to scale their operations and contribute meaningfully to job creation and economic expansion.

Supporting Trade and Diaspora Businesses
The Asian & Diaspora Trade Desk is another strategic addition, particularly at a time when Ghana is deepening trade relations with Asian markets. Mr Ato Sarpong explained that the desk will support businesses engaged in trade between Ghana and Asia, especially following the zero tariff trade agreement announced between Ghana and China.
The desk will provide trade finance, foreign exchange services, and import export advisory support to both local and foreign businesses operating in Ghana. This is expected to enhance cross border trade efficiency and position ADB as a preferred banking partner for international commerce.
ADB has also introduced an Investment and Wealth Management Desk to cater to high net worth individuals and institutional clients. The desk will offer strategic investment options and comprehensive financial planning services to support long term wealth creation.
Complementing this is the Asset Management & Advisory Services Desk, which will provide professional guidance to customers seeking to grow or diversify their financial portfolios. These desks are designed to help clients make informed investment decisions while navigating complex financial markets.
Aligning With ADB’s Growth Agenda
Deputy Managing Director in charge of Operations, Mrs Sylvia Naa Kwakai Nyante, said the expansion of the Bank’s business channels is fully aligned with ADB’s strategic growth agenda.
“The introduction of these business desks marks a new chapter in our customer engagement journey. We are not only diversifying our services but also creating dedicated spaces where clients can access in depth expertise and personalised support.”
Mrs Nyante reaffirmed the Bank’s commitment to delivering diversified, accessible, and convenient services to customers and the general public.
The introduction of the specialised desks forms part of ADB’s broader strategy to position itself among the top three banks in Ghana. This ambition is being driven by deep sector expertise, agile customer responsiveness, and innovative financial solutions that support national economic growth.
