In a move that has stunned the Ghanaian digital space, rapper Samuel Frimpong, popularly known as Medikal, and outspoken content creator Kwadwo Sheldon have officially ended their month-long hostilities.
What began as a fierce debate over award nominations ended today, April 13, 2026, with public apologies, a call for digital decorum, and a unified front ahead of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA).
The feud ignited in late March 2026 when the TGMA Board released the nominees for the 27th edition of the awards. Sheldon, known for his “Head of Content” persona, publicly challenged the inclusion of Medikal’s album, Disturbation 2.0, in the Album of the Year category.
He argued that the spot belonged to breakout star AratheJay for his project The Odyssey, claiming that Medikal’s project was unfairly included.
Medikal did not take the critique lightly. The “Stubborn Academy,” leader launched a series of Snapchat rants where he dismissed Sheldon’s influence as parasitic. He famously labeled the YouTuber a “stomach direction” critic – a local slang implying that Sheldon’s opinions were driven by financial hunger rather than artistic integrity.

The situation spiraled when Shatta Wale joined a TikTok live with Medikal, directing inappropriate comments toward Sheldon’s mother and his colleague, Highest Eri, who ironically serves as Medikal’s new PRO. This involvement shifted the narrative from a professional critique to a toxic online war.
A Strategic Alliance
Today’s reconciliation suggests that the race for Artiste of the Year has forced a strategic ceasefire. Sheldon took to social media to clear the air, admitting that the heat of the moment had clouded his judgment.

A viral trend has started with fans actually following Medikal’s order, posting “We are sorry” on Sheldon’s latest videos to atone for previous insults aimed at his family.
The timing of this “peace treaty,” is no accident. With the TGMA ceremony fast approaching, Medikal acknowledged that Sheldon remains a powerful “voice in the industry” whose digital endorsement could be the final push needed to secure the night’s biggest trophies.
