Mohamed Salah will leave Liverpool at the end of the season
Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has delivered an emotional and brutally honest message about the club’s current struggles, insisting the Reds must return to the fearless attacking identity that once made them one of Europe’s most feared sides.
The Egyptian star reflected on his journey at Anfield while expressing disappointment over Liverpool’s difficult campaign, following another painful defeat to Aston Villa on Friday.
Salah admitted the performances this season have fallen below the standards expected at the club and called for a restoration of the mentality that previously turned doubters into champions.
“I have witnessed this club go from doubters to believers, and from believers to champions. It took hard work and I always did everything I could to help the club get there. Nothing makes me prouder than that.”

The Liverpool icon, who confirmed last month that he will leave the club at the end of the season, stressed that the club’s standards must remain uncompromising regardless of who is in charge or joins the squad in future.
Salah Calls for Liverpool Identity Reset
Salah did not hide his frustration over Liverpool’s recent collapse in form, describing the latest defeat as unacceptable for a club of Liverpool’s stature.

The winger said he wants to see the Reds once again become an aggressive, attacking side capable of intimidating opponents across England and Europe.
“Crumbling to yet another defeat this season was very painful and not what our fans deserve. I want to see Liverpool go back to being the heavy metal attacking team that opponents fear and back to being a team that wins trophies.”
The 33-year-old added that the club’s identity should never be compromised and insisted every player arriving at Liverpool must adapt to that philosophy rather than lower expectations. “That is the football I know how to play and that is the identity that needs to be recovered and kept for good. It cannot be negotiable and everyone that joins this club should adapt to it.”
Salah also dismissed the idea that occasional victories should satisfy Liverpool supporters, arguing that consistent success and silverware are the only acceptable objectives for one of England’s biggest clubs.“Winning some games here and there is not what Liverpool should be about. All teams win games,” he added.
Liverpool Legend Prepares Emotional Farewell
Despite his criticism of the team’s performances this season, Salah reaffirmed his deep emotional connection to Liverpool and said the club will always remain important to him and his family long after his departure. “Liverpool will always be a club that means a great deal to me and to my family. I want to see it succeed for long after I have moved on,” he stated.
Salah has targeted qualification for next season’s UEFA Champions League as his final mission before leaving Anfield. “As I’ve always said, qualifying to next season’s Champions League is the bare minimum and I will do everything I can to make that happen,” he said.
Salah has been sidelined with injury for close to a month, but his legacy at Liverpool is already firmly secured. Since arriving from AS Roma in 2017, the Egyptian has developed into one of the greatest players in Liverpool history.

He has scored 258 goals in 438 appearances for the reigning Premier League champions, placing him third on Liverpool’s all-time scoring chart behind only club legends Ian Rush and Roger Hunt.Salah’s impact in the Premier League has been equally remarkable.
With 191 league goals and 92 assists, he now holds the record for the highest goal contributions in Liverpool’s Premier League history.
During his time at Anfield, Salah helped Liverpool win the 2 Premier League titles, UEFA Champions League, FA Cup, League Cup, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup, becoming the face of one of the club’s most successful modern eras.
As his Liverpool journey nears its conclusion, Salah’s latest message serves as both a farewell and a challenge to the club he helped restore to the summit of English and European football.
