In a highly anticipated collaboration that has sent ripples through Ghana’s music scene, rising rap star King Paluta has linked up with the undisputed king of Ghanaian hip-hop, Sarkodie, on a new single titled “Give Up And See.”

The track is scheduled for official release on Friday, May 22, 2026, marking King Paluta’s first major single of the year and another milestone in his rapid ascent.

Teasers featuring stylish duo shots of the artists and mysterious forest scenes have fueled speculation about the song’s visual direction, while Sarkodie himself amplified the buzz with a simple crown emoji, a signature move underscoring his legendary status. Pre-orders are already live, and industry watchers predict the song will dominate Ghanaian airwaves and streaming charts in the coming weeks.

From Kumasi Streets to National Spotlight

Born Thomas Adjei Wireko on January 27, 1992, in Atonsu, a suburb of Kumasi in Ghana’s Ashanti Region, King Paluta’s journey embodies resilience and determination -the very themes his new collaboration explores. Raised primarily by a single mother in a culturally rich environment steeped in hiplife and Asakaa influences, Paluta developed a love for music early.

Financial constraints delayed his recording ambitions, but persistence paid off. He began gaining traction around 2016, blending rap with melodic singing and highlife elements.

Paluta broke through with hits such as “Aseda,” “Makoma,” “Yahitte Remix” (featuring artists like Kuami Eugene, Strongman, and Amerado), “Odo Bi Ye Bad,” and more recent tracks like “Ewor Me” with Kwabena Kwabena. Known for his strong lyrical prowess, often delivered in Twi, and his ability to switch between gritty rap and emotional melodies, he has positioned himself as one of Ghana’s most versatile and consistent artists.

His 2025 run, filled with hit songs and electrifying live performances, solidified his status as a hit-making machine.

At 34, Paluta represents the new generation of Ghanaian rappers who honor tradition while pushing boundaries. His music frequently tackles real-life struggles, faith, love, and personal growth-qualities that make “Give Up And See” a natural extension of his artistry.

The Landlord of Ghana Hip-Hop

No introduction is needed for Michael Owusu Addo, better known as Sarkodie. Born July 10, 1985, in Tema, the 40-year-old veteran has dominated Ghanaian and African hip-hop for nearly two decades.

Often called the “Landlord” or rap king, Sarkodie rose from underground rap battles, including Adom FM’s Kasahare Level, to become a global force. His technical lyricism, business acumen, and cultural impact have earned him accolades like Artiste of the Decade at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards and recognition at the BET Hip Hop Awards.

Sarkodie’s career is defined by consistency, innovation, and mentorship. He has collaborated with countless artists across generations, helping elevate emerging talents while maintaining his throne. Previous work with Paluta, including the “Makoma” remix, hinted at strong chemistry. This new joint is expected to be even more potent.

Early descriptions and partial lyrics suggest “Give Up And See” is an inspiring motivational banger centered on perseverance, struggle, faith, and determination. King Paluta reportedly delivers emotional, reflective verses encouraging listeners not to quit in the face of challenges and criticism.

Sarkodie complements this with his signature sharp punchlines and storytelling flow. The track fuses hip-hop with Afro-fusion elements, promising broad appeal.

In one widely shared teaser, Paluta challenges fans: “Give me just one reason why you want to give up. If it’s valid, I will send you 10k.” This interactive, relatable approach has already gone viral, resonating deeply in a country where many young people navigate economic pressures, personal setbacks, and dreams deferred.

This collaboration arrives at an exciting time for Ghanaian music. The industry continues to blend traditional highlife and hiplife with contemporary hip-hop, Afrobeats, and global sounds.

Artists like Paluta bridge the gap between street credibility and mainstream success, while veterans like Sarkodie ensure the genre’s roots remain strong.

The pairing symbolizes the passing and sharing of the torch -experience meeting hunger. Fans on social media have hailed it as “good music incoming” and a potential chart-topper. Many see it as more than entertainment: a cultural message of hope amid Ghana’s youth-driven aspirations.

Fans Reactions

Social media has been ablaze since the announcement. Supporters from Kumasi to Accra and the diaspora are counting down the hours. Comments range from excitement about lyrical fireworks to predictions of heavy rotation on the radio and TikTok challenges. Some are already calling it the collaboration of the year.

As the release approaches, anticipation is building not just for the song but for what it represents: two artists at different career stages uniting around timeless values.

With strong production, compelling themes, and star power, King Paluta and Sarkodie are poised to deliver a track that could define the second quarter of 2026. Music lovers across Ghana and beyond will be tuning in this Friday to witness the magic.
