The Member of Parliament for Wa West, Peter Lanchene Toobu, has disapproved the action by the irate youth in the Wa municipality who attacked the Wa Police station in an attempt to forcefully release the suspects in custody responsible for flogging some two persons.
Reacting to the incident which took place, Mr. Toobu cautioned that under no circumstance should anyone attack a Police facility to express his or her rage, whatever be the case.
“It doesn’t matter how angry you are, for you to attack a police facility which you have contributed in building, it is neither here nor there.”
Peter Lanchene Toobu
The Wa West MP asserted that anytime there is a rising mob action or anytime there is some form of attack on Police facilities, the security service has to deal with a very uninformed public about what the Police are there for. He added that at times too, it is the public that has to deal with a Police organization that is incompetent and not meeting the expectations of the people.
“Or probably, we are dealing with both. What is happening in Wa and what has happened in Nkoranza and many other places where the youth will mass up to attack the Police facility, it is an action that I have condemned at any point in time.”
