In an interview on the red carpet of the recently held MOBOAwards, Ayra Starr spoke on the chances of collaborating with Tems and Tyla.
The singer was asked if she has plans to work with Grammy winners Tems and Tyla, especially after all three partied in Lagos during the star-studded Detty December season.
Ayra Starr referred to Tyla and Tems as girls and confirmed that they will be working together soon.
At the 2025 MOBO Awards that took place in Newcastle, Ayra Starr fended off competition from Beyonce, Kendrick Lamar, and Glorilla among other superstars to win the Best International Act.
This feat saw her make history by becoming the first Nigerian female artist to win the award that had previously been won by Burna Boy and Wizkid.
It had been 16 years since a female artist won Best African Music Act, but she broke that streak and took the award home. She’s also in New Balance’s lifestyle 740s campaign, alongside Jaden Smith, adding another highlight to an already incredible week.

The week isn’t even over yet, and it’s already been filled with wins, celebrations, and moments worth talking about from the women leading the music scene across the continent. Tems, Tyla, and Ayra Starr have all been in the spotlight with a winning streak.
It’s been one good thing after another, so much so that it’s hard to know where to start. Last week, Tems made a power move by joining San Diego FC’s ownership group as a club partner alongside Issa Rae.
She then released the music video for ‘Boy O Boy.’ Her performance in the video was jaw-dropping. And just when viewers thought she was done, she took center stage at The O2 Arena in London to perform live at the unveiling of Aston Martin’s 2025 racing car for the Formula 1 car livery event.
Then there was Tyla, the moment was all fashion. The South African star graced the cover of British Vogue’s March issue, and she absolutely owned it—the styling, the colors, the attitude, the presence.
The interview was just as good, giving us a glimpse into her world as she continues to soar. From music to fashion and even sports, the women came through and owned the moment this week.
Ayra Starr Desires To Be Internet Troller

The Nigerian singer revealed her secret desire to be an internet troll, admitting that she once ran a fan page for rapper Nicki Minaj before becoming famous.
She revealed her humorous intention, stressing that if she could troll other people she wouldn’t feel as bad when other people say negative things about her online.
“Sometimes I want to be a troll on the internet, probably with a fake page so that when people insult me I won’t feel bad because I do the same.”

However, the ‘Rush’ singer expressed her seriousness on the matter, citing Rihanna as an example of a celebrity with a ruthless clap-back game.“Rihanna that year, she used to clap back at people back to back,” she said and the show hosts agreed.
Ayra then confessed that not only did she have a page for trolling others in the past, but she also created a fan page for defending Nicki Minaj, whom she’s a big fan of.
“I did have a troll page before I became Ayra Starr. I had a Nicki Minaj fan page too, I used to be a troll so I feel like I’ve been there done that but I feel like it’d fit me small. I respect it so much, I think it I could use my own Ayra Starr page. Trolling would be so fun.”

Since becoming famous, the singer has faced her fair share of trolling and negative comments on social media, particularly on her fashion choices characterized by skimpy clothing.
