Actress, photo model, and brand influencer, Moesha Babiinoti Boduong, has revealed that she tested positive for the deadly COVID-19.
Speaking in an interview on the ‘Uncut’ show, the actress disclosed that she contracted the virus during the Christmas season, after attending a party. According to her, she thought the COVID-19 pandemic was not real, because she hardly knew anyone who had contracted the virus. Moesha Boduong further stressed that wearing only the mask doesn’t guarantee a person from not contracting the virus, hence, social distancing was the best way to prevent the virus from spreading. She further advised that Ghanaians should take all the precautionary measures seriously.
“See when it [COVID-19] came, I thought it wasn’t real, because, I didn’t hear of anyone around me who got infected, but then, I was still observing the safety protocols…but I just didn’t believe it was real. However, during the festive season, I got infected with corona. Corona is real, I was tested positive. I think I got it from a party I attended. It was a crowded place and a lot of people were there. I believe just wearing the nose mask isn’t enough to prevent you from getting it. Social distancing is the most important measure in preventing the spread of this virus. I am fine now, I am much better now”.
When asked what the feeling was like when she got the infection, she asserted that it wasn’t a good one, as she thought she was going to die from it and further iterated that she is doing well now.
“When I contracted it I was scared, I thought I would die and when I got it I thought it was just malaria. So, I decided to treat it as malaria, but still, I was feeling sick, and when I noticed I couldn’t smell and taste. I knew something was wrong, and before that, a lady who attended the party with us told us she got corona so it dawned on me that it could be it. Lo and behold I went for the test and I tested positive, but I have treated myself”.
She also revealed how she got cured of the virus within six days by; taking the prescribed medications and inhaling the steam of boiled neem tree leaves as well as ginger. She further stated that she was just fortunate as some of her friends, who have contracted the virus are still receiving treatment at the hospital. She later reiterated that COVID-19 is real and advised that people shouldn’t take it lightly.
Speaking about the circulating rumors of her getting married, the actress confirmed it that it will come off very soon. Moesha also disclosed that she has been in a relationship with her husband-to-be for 6 years and that she is excited to soon make their relationship official.
“It’s been about six years now since I started dating my fiancé, and hopefully this year we will get married, very soon”.
