Ghanaian actor and producer, Prince David Osei says he never mentioned any political party during his address at the New Patriotic Party’s virtual rally, contrary to the claims that he singled out NDC supporters and tagged them as unwise.
According to him he only said he is wise enough to know what is good for him and the country that is why he is supporting the incumbent NPP.
“I never mentioned any political party, all I said was that I am wise, and I know what is good for me and would not support a bad course.” He clarified
In an interview with TV3, the actor bemoaned the twist that has been put on his words adding that he has the video evidence to vindicate him.
“The media has a way of projecting news with sweet captions. Can you prove to me where I said other people supporting NDC are not wise? I have the video. People have a way of analyzing things, I never insulted anybody.”
He went on to pinpoint that the tendency, to deliberately twist what people say is a typical act of electioneering campaigns.
“It was a campaign season and everybody would want to take advantage of things to misquote people, I never said that,” he added.
Meanwhile, it can be recalled that the renowned Ghanaian actor, Prince David Osei said he is wiser and sensible enough to only support the NPP during the NPP virtual rally.
According to him, Akufo-Addo is the right person to lead Ghana, therefore, he cannot be blind to that to support any other party. He added that the era of the NDC ruling Ghana is over and that Ghanaians should rally behind the NPP to move Ghana forward.
He called on all those who were watching the event from home to vote for the NPP in the December 7, 2020, election.
“We need to move on as a country. The prosperity of Ghana lies in the hands of Nana Addo. Let’s not make any mistake to vote back the NDC. As for me, I am a sensible man, a very logical man and so I can’t support any bad thing,” Osei declared.
Touching on some of Akufo-Addo’s achievements, Osei said the president has given away 40 million to revamp the creative art industry.
He claimed further that Akufo-Addo has bought prestige to the presidency, saying that he feels good anytime Akufo-Addo’s name is mentioned as president of Ghana.
“What else do you want? Please, don’t be deceived. We are done with the NDC,” Osei stressed.
Following all the backlash he got from Ghanaians for his comments, the actor however went on to note that anyone who does not understand why he supports the NPP should go and kill themselves and this made a buzz all over social media.
He stated that such people should go and hug a transformer, meaning that they could go and commit suicide if they don’t understand why he supports the NPP.
Ghanaians who did not take what he said lightly, criticized him massively for his words.
