The President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa- Akuffo Addo, says that, the construction of the Boankra Inland Port is set to commence in November.
“If God permits, this November, the Boankra Inland Port which has been on the drawing table for generations will come on. The contractors have requested for us to wait for them, so upon their arrival, we will cut sword for work to begin. So, you will all see me here again because of the Boankra Inland Port.”
He made this announcement when he paid a courtesy call to the Asantehene, Otumfuor Osei-Tutu II and the Asanteman Council today, 28th September 2020 in the Ashanti region.

He then lamented about the poor conditions of health facilities in many parts of the country and disclosed the construction of new district hospitals for the Ashanti Region.
“On Agenda 111, since the inception of COVID, we realized that our health facilities and measures are not really strong. Many parts of the country do not have district hospitals, so as result, in the next 12months, we will begin the construction of 112 hospitals across the country.”
He further said that, in the Ashanti region about fifteen districts will benefit from the construction of the hospitals in the country.
He then said that, he was voted into power because of his promises and all promises he made to the Ashanti Region before being elected into power has also been fulfilled.
“The Ghanaian government had not been entrusted in my hands before but I had worked since Kufuors era and not today. In 2016, when I came into power, I made a promise to the Otumfuor that, if power is given to me, there are a lot of things I want to do, and Ghanaians listened to me because of the promises and because of the type of governance we were experiencing previously was not going well. And these things combined is what influenced Ghanaians to put their trust in me and vote for me.”
He then appealed to the people of the Ashanti Region that, if they are satisfied with his works, come December 7th, they should vote him back into power and also do well to maintain all the NPP parliamentary seats as well.
He noted that, although this is a political season, there are lot of things you have to put out there admist the numerous campaign promises because, if you don’t majority will not work and was part of what influenced his visit.
“Every year I tour all the regions in Ghana and today is the day God has given to me to pay a courtesy call to the Ashanti Region and despite this, I have to also visit the house before, if there is any project I commence. And I am also here to ask for permission and the blessings from the owner of the land before if there is anything I want to do, I continue.”
He then thanked the Asantehene Otumfuor Osei Tutu II for honoring the gathering.
