President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has announced his first set of appointments.
In a statement released by the Presidency, the President retained Akosua Frema Opare as the Chief of Staff.
In his first 13 appointments for his second term, the President also named Fawaz Aliu and Emmanuel Adumua-Bossman as Deputy Chiefs of Staff, with Nana Bediatuo Asante still retained as the secretary to the President.
Also, on the list, Mercy Debrah-Karikari is secretary to the cabinet while Brig. Gen. Emmanuel Okyere serves as National Security advisor. Others are Lord Commey, Director of Operations, Eugene Arhin, Director of Communications and Dr Isaac Owusu-Mensah as Director of Research.

Meanwhile, President Akufo-Addo has also directed Deputy National Security, Opare Duncan to act as National Security Coordinator following the sudden passing of Joshua Kyeremeh.
My Kyeremeh reportedly died while undergoing treatment at the Ga East Municipal hospital in Accra, where he was seeking treatment following a short illness on Monday, January 18, 2020.
According to the Communications Director at the Presidency, Eugene Arhin, Mr Duncan will act pending the appointment of a substantive Coordinator.
He added that arrangements for the late Kyeremeh’s funeral will be announced in due course.
