The family of the murdered journalist Ahmed Suale have expressed concern that justice in the journalist’s murder will not be carried out, if Kennedy Agyapong, the Member of Parliament for Assin Central, is elected President.
In a statement, the family voiced its displeasure with Kennedy Agyapong’s remarks.
Kennedy Agyapong is vying to represent the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the general elections of 2024. After the ex-Tiger Eye PI journalist’s slaying in January 2019, the outspoken MP said he has no misgivings about the circumstances.
The Suale family, however, accused Mr. Agyapong of killing the journalist and claimed that no amount of attempts or remarks could exonerate him from the heinous crime.
According to the family, Ahmed Suale would still be alive if Mr. Agyapong had not called for thugs to bash him up, after posting his photos on Net2 TV.
“But for Kennedy Agyapong’s reckless and criminal conduct, nobody would have known the face of Ahmed, who was an undercover reporter of Tiger Eye, working on BBC projects. Therefore, the post facto attempt to shift the blame on the professional conduct of Ahmed, cannot hold. Over the period, Kennedy Agyapong has tried strenuously to change the effect of his call for retribution against Ahmed by saying his comments were location-bound, i.e., presence at Net 2 premises.
“We quote his comments verbatim here to prove how deceitful Kennedy Agyapong is – “yes, that is him, Ahmed, he lives at Madina…wherever you see him, beat him up…I will pay for the cost”. Clearly, Kennedy Agyapong was rallying support for the lynching of Ahmed without any restriction.”

The family further stressed that if Mr. Agyapong wins the Presidency in the 2024 general elections, there will be no justice, due to the MP’s lack of regret and his defense strategies.
“By his lack of remorse and the frantic defence of his conduct, the family is doubtful that Ahmed would ever get justice under a misfortune where Kennedy Agyapong becomes the President of Ghana. We are also disappointed that, to date, the Police has not made any progress on the matter. At minimum, we expect the Police to look into the crime of aiding and abetting, and threats of harm where there is plentiful of evidence, all of which was reported to them on a couple of occasions by Ahmed Suale.”

Agyapong Advised To Work On Temperament
Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, has been warned by Smart Sarpong, a Professor at Kumasi Technical University (KsTU), to work on his temperament before he attempts to lead the New Patriotic Party (NPP) into the 2024 elections.
Ken Agyapong is one of the ten candidates running for President in the ruling Party’s primary elections. After a super-delegates conference on Saturday, August 26, it is anticipated that the number of candidates would have been reduced by half.
Prof. Sarpong claimed that the fiery politician had just two flaws that could seal his chances of winning. As stated by the senior research fellow at KsTU’s Institute of Research, Innovation, and Development, the businessman has a short fuse. He argued that this might not be good for him.
Additionally, according to Prof. Sarpong, the Assin Central lawmaker lacks diplomacy, which he claimed is a crucial component of politics, particularly at the Presidential level. As a result, he asserted that Ken Agyapong needed to alter his perception of how he handled contentious situations.
The researcher concluded that Mr. Agyapong’s personality had more positive aspects than negative ones, including his outspokenness, extensive experience as a politician, and his generosity.
Yet, in a previous interview, the board chairman of Ghana National Gas Company, Ken Agyapong claimed that most Ghanaians simply interpreted his confidence as arrogance.
