The National Democratic Congress Daboya/Mankarigu Constituency in the Savanah Region has strongly criticized Honorable Samuel Abu Jinapor, Member of Parliament for Damongo Constituency and Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, accusing him of corruption.
Sidik Jabaru John, the opposition party’s Communication Officer for Daboya/Mankarigu Constituency in a statement chastised Honorable Jinapor for demonstrating an opulence and extravagance life during his visit to the constituency.
He further alleged that Honorable Samuel Abu Jinapor during his visit to the constituency, distributed thousands of Ghana Cedis to youth groups and made grand promises of wealth and resources, behaviour that he labelled as a blatant display of corrupt opulence.
“Samuel Abu Jinapor spent over ghc100,000 amidst several promises of motorbikes and cars to some opinion leaders and chiefs on a single visit to Daboya/Mankarigu Constituency.
“When the news of his visit broke, the chiefs and people of Wasipe were expecting to hear from Abu Jinapor why his government has failed to complete the toilets they started in 2018 and why they abandoned the Daboya /Bonsunu road, Daboya/Mankarigu road, Daboya township road etc. None of these questions were answered

Integrity, the People of Daboya/Mankarigu’s Pride
Touting the residents of Daboya/Mankarigu Constituency’s readiness to rally behind the opposition party ahead of the December general election, Sidik Jabaru John noted that despite the significant amounts of money distributed by the Member of Parliament for Damanago Constituency, the people of Daboya/Mankarigu remained unimpressed and are ready to vote against the ruling party.
He emphasized that the people of Daboya/Mankarigu are known for their integrity and pride, hence they are very committed to resisting being swayed by Honorable Jinapor’s financial gestures.
Moreover, the opposition National Democratic Congress’s Communication Officer for Daboya/Mankarigu Constituency, Sidik Jabaru John asserted that the visit of Honorable Jinapor has only strengthened the residents’ resolve to support the opposition party.
He recounted that several constituents have pledged their votes to former President John Dramani Mahama and the party’s parliamentary candidate for the constituency, Honorable Alhaji Lawyer Shaibu Mahama Obei in the upcoming December 7th elections.
“It is unfortunate how Abu Jinapor failed in his core mandate as a Member of Parliament and a cabinet minister and thought he can hoodwink people into doing his bidding by splashing filthy cash on them. The good people of Daboya/Mankarigu Constituency have shown that they are discerning people with conscience as the thousands of Ghana cedis splashed on the people had little or no effect on them”.

He added that several constituents are particularly dismayed at the stark contrast between Honorable Jinapor’s newfound wealth and the persistent struggles they face daily, including a lack of access to clean water and basic infrastructure.
This sentiment, he noted is amplified in areas like Lingbinsi, where promises made by the governing New Patriotic Party administration over the past eight years have remained unfulfilled.
In addition, Sidik Jabaru John, the opposition party’s Communication Officer for Daboya/Mankarigu Constituency accused the ruling party’s parliamentary candidate, Samuel Tika, whom he noted Honorable Jinapor introduced during his visit of having a reputation for disrespect and inciting unrest within the constituency.
This, he noted has further alienated the people of Daboya/Mankarigu, who are looking for leaders who will unite rather than divide.
As the December elections approach, the opposition party’s Communication Officer for the Daboya/Mankarigu Constituency indicated that the constituents of Daboya/Mankarigu have made their stance clear to vote for the opposition National Democratic Congress.
He emphasized that the constituents of Daboya/Mankarigu are ready to support leaders who prioritize development and integrity over opulence and empty promises, adding that the NDC, with its track record of providing essential services such as water, electricity, and schools, appears to be the preferred choice for many in the constituency.
