“The bigger the crown, the bigger the hatred”
The Minority NPP and shadow actors’ attack against the newly appointed Governor of the Central Bank of Ghana, Dr Johnson Asiama makes me wonder if there is a motive against him or this is just hatred against his personality.
For those who follow the events regarding the State dropping all charges against Dr Johnson Asiama, he was not the only person whose case was dropped. The Former Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) CEO, Dr Stephen Kwabena Opuni & Businessman Seidu Agongo, had all charges dropped also.
My take is that, either Dr Johnson Asiama has an antidote to Ghana’s economic woes and this does not sit well with the minority and those shadow stakeholders who are hiding and using the minority for their parochial gains or there is someone else the minority wants to be in the seat so they can manipulate.
For so many years, the state could not find substantial evidence to prosecute Dr Johnson Asiama. So, the question is why waste his time and keep him in the dark when you do not have evidence to persecute him?
If it is the case of him not receiving approval form the yet to be re-constituted Council of State (COS) then this unfounded criticism does not wash.
This will not be the first time prominent people have been appointed to positions awaiting approval form a yet to be re-constituted COS.
Mr. Kwakye Ofosu gave evidence to back his claim when the then President Nana Addo appointed Ms. Irene Naa Toshie Addo as the Administrator of the District Assemblies Common Fund in 2017 when the COS was yet to be re-constituted.
I chanced on the video regarding the Peace Fm news anchor who was defending Dr Johnson Asiama, the said anchor made it clear that Dr Johnson Asiama had done no wrong based on evidence he had gathered.
I tend to support the assertion that there are elements within the National Democratic Congress (NDC) who have ganged up with the Minority in parliament to spread misinformation about Dr Johnson Asiama.
For the minority to go as far as petitioning the International Monitory Fund (Fund) means some people do not want to see the economic aspect of this country progressing.
The person whom I expected to even say anything against Dr Johnson Asiama is the outgone Governor Mr. Addison or Dr. Maxwell Opoku-Afari the then Deputy Governor of the BOG because they were well acquainted.
The case involving was stalled for a while due to lack of evidence to prosecute him. I do not see an attack on Dr Johnson Asiama but an attack on the economic space of this country.
Certain elements do not want to see the economic progress of this country so they can have justification to criticize.
Why can’t we just allow Dr Johnson Asiama to work for some time and assess his performance? After assessing his performance for a period of time then we can make a sound analysis.
Dr Johnson Asiama must be careful with his inner circle, trust no man but God.
