MTN Group, today, Thursday, June 2, 2022 announced the appointment of Andrew Goodrich as the new Executive for Banktech in the company’s Group Fintech team, effective, June 1, 2022.
Andrew joined MTN in 2019 as a General Manager for Banktech & Beyond Payments division, where he has added immense value in executing the company’s digital banking strategy.

Prior to joining MTN, Andrew was involved in a number of start-ups. This includes a niche credit risk solutions consultancy, which was successful in assisting several start-ups in South Africa (SA), as well as an e-commerce and digital credit provider and numerous Fintech/ Finserv businesses throughout South Africa, Africa, and Asia. MTN Group congratulated Andrew and wish him the very best in his new role.
MTN Group resumes 21 Days of Y’ello Care campaign
Meanwhile, MTN Group also announced the resumption of its Y’ello Care employee volunteering programme after two years of COVID-19. The annual event aims to secure high participation levels of MTN staff in high impact social projects to uplift and empower the local communities in which the company operates.
The programme, which kicked off on June 1 until the June 21,2022 is under the theme ‘Empowering Communities to Drive Economic Recovery’.
The aim is to inspire ‘MTNers’ to heed the call to upskill local communities in order to drive economic activity and participation through focusing on digital skills training and digital job creation. This is linked to MTN’s strategic priority to build digital skills for digital jobs aligned to the company’s Ambition 2025 Strategy.

MTN Group announces Anchor Sponsorship for Commonwealth Business Forum
MTN Group further disclosed that it will be an anchor sponsor at the upcoming Commonwealth Business forum (CBF) scheduled to take place from 21st to 23rd June, 2022 in Kigali, Rwanda.

The Commonwealth Business Forum is part of the official CHOGM programme and will be the first & largest in-person gathering for governments and businesses across the Commonwealth since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. This year’s Forum will address the theme Delivering a Common Future: Connecting, Innovating and Transforming.
MTN Group will support this event as an Anchor Sponsor, to the value of Two hundred and Thirty Thousand American Dollars (US$230 000), as a sign of its commitment to advancing initiatives that are geared to strengthen relations between business and government.
