The Hon. John Abdulai Jinapor, the Minister responsible for Energy and Green Transition has hosted a high-level meeting with representatives from the American Jewish Committee (AJC).
This engagement is part of the ministry’s strategic move to drive transformative reforms and improvement in the country’s energy sector.
The discussion focused on potential areas of collaboration, including clean cooking initiatives, renewable energy deployment, and rural electrification projects.
“I reaffirmed our government’s commitment to advancing renewable and sustainable energy solutions in Ghana,” Hon. John Abdulai Jinapor emphasised.
International collaboration

The engagement with the American Jewish Committee (AJC) highlights the crucial role of international partnerships in supporting Ghana’s energy sector reforms.
The Minister emphasized that Ghana continues to value its strong and enduring relationships and looks forward to deepening these ties through practical cooperation and shared innovation in the energy sector.
One of the Minister’s key priorities has been to improve renewable energy, which is viewed as a panacea to energy efficiency.
Through this strategic engagement, the Ministry is working to improve energy access across the length and breadth of the country.
Additionally, the Minister emphasized the need to secure more cost-effective generation capacity to strengthen the sector’s resilience and deliver lasting benefits to consumers.
According to the Minister, all these initiatives and efforts are targeted at placing the well-being of Ghanaians first as far as energy is concerned.

Energy Sector Improvement

The Minister also highlighted the strategic efforts to bring in additional generation capacity at lower costs to realize the government’s objective of upgrading rural electrification projects to bridge the inequality gap in the country’s energy sector.
The American Jewish Committee (AJC), during the engagement, also reaffirmed its position as a strategic partner to Ghana and assured the Minister of their continuous commitment to providing the necessary support to the Ministry in achieving its objectives.
Hon. John Abdulai Jinapor since assuming office, has been at the forefront of driving transformative reforms in the president’s energy sector agenda.
Recognizing the importance of renewable energy, the Minister has also championed the integration of clean power sources into Ghana’s energy mix.
This includes exploring innovative partnerships and leveraging the expertise of international development partners to accelerate the country’s transition towards a more sustainable and green energy future and more importantly provide energy for every Ghanaian irrespective of their location.
By focusing on these critical areas, the Hon. John Abdulai Jinapor is positioning the energy sector as a key driver of Ghana’s overall economic and social development, ensuring that all Ghanaians have access to affordable, reliable, and environmentally-friendly energy services.
