Mr. Osei is widely credited with establishing the Legal and Reputation Management function at MobileMoney LTD, Ghana’s largest fintech and Electronic Money Issuer, and the leading fintech contributor to revenue within the MTN Group. His leadership has positioned the company at the forefront of sound governance, risk management, and stakeholder engagement in an industry defined by rapid innovation and evolving regulation.
In his role, he provides strategic legal direction, oversees stakeholder engagement, and champions governance practices within Ghana’s digital financial services landscape. His stewardship has been particularly significant during the localization of MobileMoney LTD as it transitioned from a subsidiary of Scancom PLC to a fully owned MTN Group business.
This transition required not only legal precision but also careful management of regulatory relationships, operational risks, and corporate restructuring frameworks. Industry observers credit Mr. Osei’s cross sector experience and institutional knowledge as critical to ensuring continuity, compliance, and growth throughout the process.

Two Decades of Cross Industry Expertise
With more than 20 years of professional experience spanning fintech, telecommunications, consultancy, beverage production, construction, and pharmaceuticals, Mr. Osei brings rare breadth to his leadership portfolio. His work has strengthened internal risk management frameworks, enhanced stakeholder trust, and supported sustainable business growth.
His career reflects a blend of legal scholarship and strategic management. He holds a BA Hons in Economics and Law from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and an MBA from the University of Birmingham. He obtained his legal qualifications from BPP University and University of Law, where he completed the LPC MSc in Law and Business Management.
Further strengthening his global outlook, he holds a certificate in ESG Leadership from the University of Cambridge. He is also a qualified solicitor and barrister, having completed his professional legal training at the Ghana School of Law.
This academic and professional foundation has enabled him to align legal strategy with corporate vision, particularly in areas such as environmental, social, and governance compliance, digital risk mitigation, and responsible innovation.
