AngloGold Ashanti has announced that it has completed its corporate restructuring, with a primary listing of its shares on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and a corporate domicile in the UK.
After the primary listing of its shares on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), the gold mining company subsequently started trading. The corporate restructuring was first announced on 12 May of this year and approved by the shareholders of AngloGold Ashanti Limited on 18 August.
AngloGold Ashanti CEO, Alberto Calderon explained that the move of its primary listing to the NYSE provides it with improved access to the world’s largest capital market and places us alongside the industry’s highest-valued gold companies.

The ordinary shares of AngloGold Ashanti plc, meanwhile, maintained the ticker symbol AU. Trading in the AngloGold Ashanti Limited American Depositary Shares (ADSs) on the NYSE ceased at the close of market on 22nd September, 2023 and the AngloGold Ashanti Limited ADS program has been terminated with effect from 25 September 2023.
AngloGold Ashanti Remains Committed to JSE
AngloGold Ashanti indicated that it remains committed to the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) and A2X Markets (A2X) in South Africa and the Ghana Stock Exchange (GhSE) in Ghana on which it has maintained secondary listings.
The ordinary shares of AngloGold Ashanti plc commenced trading on the JSE and A2X on 20 September 2023, maintaining the ticker symbol ANG. The ordinary shares and Ghanaian Depositary Shares of AngloGold Ashanti plc will also commence trading on the GhSE, maintaining the ticker symbols AGA and AAD, respectively.
The AngloGold Ashanti group is now headquartered in Denver, Colorado and retains a substantial corporate office in Johannesburg.
Anglogold Ashanti traded at 30,472.00 this Friday September 29th, decreasing 442.00 or 1.43 percent since the previous trading session. Looking back, over the last four weeks, Anglogold Ashanti lost 7.76 percent. Over the last 12 months, its price rose by 22.05 percent.
Looking ahead, the company forecast Anglogold Ashanti to be priced at 29,630.97 by the end of this quarter and at 27,244.62 in one year, according to Trading Economics global macro models projections and analysts expectations.
