Ghanaian highlife artiste KK Fosu has hinted at plans to go venture into politics. The musician, therefore, wants Ghanaians to watch out for him during the 2024 political season.
Speaking in an interview, the highlife artist noted that he is a “freedom fighter”, who is always ready to “fight for the youth of this country, especially Akuapem North”.
Explaining his vision as an aspiring Member of Parliament (MP), the ‘Sudwe’ hitmaker revealed: “I always want to advocate when it comes to agriculture. I want us to go back to agriculture. Let’s build agriculture so it’ll be attractive to the youth”.
Speaking further, KK Fosu also disclosed that he wants to alleviate his town folks from poverty, hence his intention to contest as an independent Parliamentary candidate.
KK Fosu bemoaned the neglect of his town Mangoase by past MPs and governments who have failed to develop the town and provide jobs for the people. He added that Mangoase is lagging behind in development; a situation he believes can be changed if he becomes a lawmaker for the Akuapem North constituency in the Eastern Region.
KK Fosu averred that he is hopeful he will be able to improve the livelihoods of his people and build schools when he becomes part of the legislative body where MPs are allocated the needed resources.
“I want to go to Parliament and help my poor people in my village and those out there, I mean the youth especially. When people get to Parliament, they neglect their constituents. They don’t help them at all, so we need to take the job into our hands now. The best way to build schools and roads is for me to go to Parliament”.

Born Kaakyire Kwame Fosu, the highlife musician disclosed that he will be contesting the Akuapem North Constituency seat, as an independent candidate to enter the House of Legislature.
“I’m going as an independent candidate. You see, I’m a person who is loved by everyone. Whether it’s the NDC, NPP, CPP, you name it; everyone loves me. The other thing with such established parties is that you’d need to join them and serve for a while before you can contest and they’d even tell you there’s a long line of possible candidates to be considered before you. I’m not ready for that”.

The singer said he is very much prepared to be part of Ghana’s legislature, adding that he has been tutored on the parliamentary proceedings.
“KK Fosu and his team are very prepared, I will take people by surprise, we are working underground, people should watch out,” he said.
He said his decision to ditch music and become an MP was borne out of interactions he and his colleague musicians had with President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
Meanwhile, the current MP for Akuapem North is the New Patriotic Party’s Nana Ama Dokua Asiamah Adjei.
