Nigerian singer, songwriter, and rapper, Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, known professionally as Burna Boy, has revealed that he has collaborated with the famous Australian singer and songwriter, Sia to record the new version of Sia’s ‘Hey Boy’.
Taking to his Twitter page, Burna Boy captioned in a photo of the album cover that he has been featured on Sia’s song ‘Hey Boy’ and that it will be dropping on Thursday 14, 2021. He also touted the music to be one of his favorite.
“‘HEY BOY’ @Sia featuring myself dropping Thursday. Definitely one of, my favorites” Burna wrote.
This he did after the songstress took to her official Twitter page to share the big news with her fans. She shared an animated poster along with the caption, “Pucker up Kiss mark “Hey Boy” ft @burnaboy song plus video out Thursday – Team Sia”.
Some section of Burna Boys fans congratulated him for such a huge international collaboration. Meanwhile, others have taken offense to the art cover of the music as Burna Boy was portrayed to look like an animated ‘animal’.
The cover art is a funky and futuristic poster that features both the artists in a super-cool animated avatar. Sia hides her eyes with her hair in the poster just like she does in her real life and looks confident and sexy while holding the mic. Burna Boy, on the other hand, has been given the avatar of a funky and a very tall cartoon animal. The animated avatar of Burna Boy looks dapper as he dons a bright orange suit with a heavy gold chain that says his name in bold letters.
“Hey Boy” is part of Sia’s upcoming Music album which drops on February 12th, 2021. The album will contain songs from the motion picture of the same name (Music) written and directed by Sia which features, Kate Hudson, Leslie Odom Jr., and Maddie Ziegler.
That notwithstanding, Sia is not the only international pop star Burna Boy has collaborated with as he is well known for having several A-list international features. The hitmaker of the single ‘Anybody’, has teamed up with the likes of Sam Smith, Stormzy, Ed Sheeran, and Keyan’s Sauti Sol to record some amazing music.

That aside, it can be recalled that Burna Boy released his fifth studio album ‘Twice As Tall’ last year in August, where Burna Boy was very vocal in condemning police brutality in Nigeria, which was perpetrated by the country’s Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).
In an interview last summer, Burna Boy spoke about ‘Monsters You Made’ and how he wrote it to fight against systems of oppression.
“There are so many situations where a fight needs to be had. A revolution is needed, and I want to inspire it,” he said. “I’m painting a picture of what we already see every day, but maybe no one has painted the picture in an honest form before. I tried to do that with ‘Monsters'” he revealed.
